When I notice Genophobia I was suspecting the fear of the puppet Geno but I guess wrong.

Ignoring the orignial posters request and the restatement of that quest by budthedog, I will make comments even though I do not have Genophobia.

I personally believe an anonymous poll would be a better way to ask this question as it would give you a rough Idea of the proportion of people affected with this affectation.

It seems that at least some of the individuals who are genophobic are vocal in their commentary whenever an image that is blatantly sexual is posted. Similarly it seems that when a piece of process containing other lesser followed fetishes (guro, vore, etc.) the general community is up in outrage.

Your assumption is that if someone is Genophobic that they are afraid of posting or even viewing sexual material. What I meant is that if someone is Genophobic wouldn't they be too afraid to post in this thread?

At the other people: people who visit the general section are already perfectly capable of expressing their feelings about sex. They're quite vocal. At Sweeney Todd: genophobia has nothing to do with whether a person is genuinely ready to have sex or not. It is an aversion to sex usually generated from consistent and pervasive negative imagery or attitudes towards sex or sexual abuse as a child. My hypothesis here is that at least some of the people here are circumventing an ingrained aversion to sexuality through paraphilias that allow them to express themselves sexually and gain sexual release in the absence of the disturbing imagery of actual sex acts.

This isn't a bad thing. No, It's something you can't really decide to have, like natural hair color. You can get past this, given a supportive partner and therapy and whatnot.

I am going to have to say a resounding maybe. I do know that I don't like explicit porn. I'm not experienced enough to know for certain about the real thing. This may in itself be telling...

Maybe they all saw that movie "Teeth" and are now scared of vaginas.

well i guess I'll be honest i suppose, but idk if im scared of sex but i kinda think that i am because well theres 2 reasons one is that i might knock up the chick and dont want a kid another is that i really dont if i know i would do well like i hear that a guy's first time is always gonna suck or something along those lines and i really wouldnt know what to do so yeah...

The actual listed material? NO.

Honestly, though, I believe I could subscribe to this. However, it's not a fear so much as disintrest and, in particularly over-exagerated works, disgust.
