Re: Favorite Bonds
Personally I can't wait for Christmas this year, not so much because it's Christmas, but because all of the 007 books by Ian Flemming are on it, minus Casino Royale, since I already have it.

Re: Favorite Bonds
If Casino Royale is the only one you've read so far, you're in for quite a treat! Dr. No was good, as was Goldfinger, of course From Russia With Love was great, but to be quite honest, my favorite of all the books I read was The Man With the Golden Gun. I was never a huge fan of the movie, but the book is a very gritty story about a showdown and fight to the death between to consummate professionals. Bond is anxious in that mission, and you really get to see a more human side of him when he's worrying about his skill, and trying to find a way to beat Scaramanga.
But still, all those books are awesome, though some are a little over the top. Thunderball was great, and On Her Majesty's Secret Service was really fantastic, though there was alot of love story in it. All those books feature Bond getting literally beat to shit, and just barely finding a way out of the mess through sheer determination and skill. Excellent reads. |
Re: Favorite Bonds
Pierce brosnan ftw.
For me he just was THE james bond. Suave smooth, getting the persona of Bond the best in my eyes. Sean Connery second for his all-round bondness as people already mentioned. He had the charisma and physical thing. But...I dunno....he just wasn't smooth enough. (oh and later seemed old). The new guy, forgot-his-name, seems to have potential too :p |

George Lazenby stars in it and was only in that one movie... I think my first Bond movie was either Golden Eye or Never say Never Again, not an official bond, but it was still a bond movie |
Re: Favorite Bonds

Re: Favorite Bonds
I found Nina Hartley's Guide To Erotic Bondage to be a very helpful Bond movie.

Re: Favorite Bonds
Oh yes, I've definitely seen the movie! Just saying that there's quite a bit of love story in the book. It's kind of the focus of that particular story, more so than the movie was, I thought. And man, the whole *spoiler* part of what happens, it just tears at you in the book. You have such a better idea of the hatred and animosity between Blofeld and Bond in the books. After reading You Only Live Twice, you can see how Bond might have felt in OHMSS. Great book, hell, great books! I hope you enjoy them as much as I certainly did!

Re: Favorite Bonds
And you see it Diamonds, as well as... one of the moore's ... i don't remember which movie it was

Re: Favorite Bonds
I have to go with Brosnan as my favorite Bond, followed by Connery, then Craig, Moore, Lazenby and Dalton at the bottom of the heap.
Always loved what they could cram in his wristwatch, and the Aston Martin's have always been my favorite of his cars, be it the DB5 or DB9. Bond girls, for looks, Christmas Jones, but overall I'd have to go with Pussy Galore. Goldeneye is my favorite Brosnan film, Goldfinger my favorite Connery Bond film. |
