But it's actually a death because a tree grew out of her and caused her to explode. It's not a transformation at all.

It's the difference between saying someone was transformed into ashes vs someone being burned to death until there was only ashes left after their gruesome demise.

No. I said it would be a death scene, to me, even if she did turn into a tree. Indicating that I thought that I didn't think she turned into a tree, and thus agreed with you. I was just making a seperate point about how it didn't matter to me whether she turned into a tree, or one grew out of her, she'd be dead either way.

The follow up I also don't agree with. A person turning into something doesn't mean they died. Identity death and actual death aren't the same thing. One is literal, the other is existential.

Look, if I tell you we don't agree on something, don't argue with me and try to convince me that we do.
