Melkorios finds a strange village of short men who perceive her as their goddess. Their worship and prayers cause Melk to grow to 9'5".

Ok, the score at the end of day 3 is:

Vixen and Indigo tied at 9'1"

Day Four begins!

Vixen continues east, that food she ate last round still seems to be kicking in, she grows to 12'3". Doesn't have to worry about Dartnet pushing her around.

Vix, I'll let the move to that hex slide this time, but in the future, please refrain from making your moves til the next day starts. Both you and Dartnet were in a position to take that hex, it's not right to call em early.

Dartnet tries to head NorthEast, but a blinding flash comes from the east! Melkorios zaps Dart with a freeze ray before Melk heads Southeast.

A strange green rain starts to fall across the eastern and southern parts of the map.

Indigo seeks shelter in a cave where she's bitten by a giant bat. The bats bite infects Indigo's bloodstream and she rips to a height of 11'10". The back of her shirt tears open as two tiny bat wings grow out of her shoulderblades.

The green rain hits Lorekeep and Melkorios tho, filling them with size and strength as they grow half their size again, Lorekeep to 18' and Melkorios to 14'2.

So ends day 4, here's the score.
Lorekeep way in the lead with 18'
Melkorios in second at 14'2"
Dartnet 14'
Vixen 12'3"
And Indigo with 11'10"

Additionally, while I'll communicate with you all via PMs regarding your weapons and items, any attacks made on other players should be made here in the thread.

(Dartnet, I got a PM from Melk regarding the freeze ray 1 hr before your post was made)

But if posts are made here, players can respond accordingly.

Dartnet stumbles across a rolling set of green, beautiful hills... and accidentally steps on a leprechaun. (they're especially small to her now) But Dart picks up his gold coin and starts growing to the height of 15'5"

Indigo is still feeling ill from the bat-bite she received, but she's also still growing. To 17'2".

Lorekeep heads back to the beach to rest and relax in the water, but it seems some industrial companies have been dumping chemicals here. Good thing for Lore as she skyrockets to 23'5. Lore can move 3 hexes a time now and has a mighty big bullseye painted on her back.

Soy: I will do some more sketches, I've just been burnt out. Work has been a pain lately.

Vixen searches the base of the mountain, searching for more of those greek-like artifacts and finds one! A statue of Zeus it looks like. You pick it up and are filled with power, you grow to 15'11.

You call down the lightning bolt ability you received earlier on Lorekeep.

HodRod: there will be some, but they will be caused by player weapons only. Last game I thought it was very un-fun for a player (like yourself) to randomly hit a shrink several times. (but correct me if Im wrong folks)

I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing to throw in a few booby-traps (aside from the player weapons), just to put a little fear into the players. I think the biggest drawback to the first contest was the quantity and severity of the shrinking potions. I have to admit, though, that HodRod suffered a great deal of random chance in that game also.

If you read back in the thread, this has been a topic covered a few times already. There are already 2 more contests set after this one finishes and Kricket has declared a moratorium once those are done. In other words, he is not accepting any new entrants at this time. More than likely he'll want a break for a while.

Ok, at Hex 35 Melkorios finds the exit! There's a huge, strange device and a red button at the top. You dont think you can reach it until you're at least 50' tall.

At the base of the machine Melk finds a backpack, and inside is a potion which says "Drink me". (so of course Melk does) Melk grows to 15'17"

Also- Vixen sends a lightning bolt at Lorekeep, but lorekeep deflects the lightning bolt away with the lid to a pot! Unfortunately the lightning is deflected towards Melk!

Melk gets fried unconscious and will be knocked out until the beginning of Day 7.

Let's start day 6.
Lorekeep- 23'5"
Indigo- 17'2"
Vixen- 15'11"
Melkorios- 15'7" (unconscious)
Dartnet- 15'5"

Over in hex 62 you unwittingly pass through an area which had been used for radioactive experiments. You're saturated with it, causing you to grow to 20'7"

Shoot, I did miss it. But yea, that's all you have to say. You move to hex 55 and kick Vixen back to Hex 30.

Vixens statue of zeus seems to have dropped from her pocket when you kicked her into next Tuesday. You pick it up and grow to 28'1".

Vix: as a side effect of being kicked your movement is reduced 1 hex your next move.

At Hex 22 Dartnet finds some delicious looking fruit. Eating it causes her to grow to 20'1" Just barely making the 3-hex range. grats!

Also, I ended the last day earlier than I should have :( I forgot Melkorios had a defensive weapon, Melk PM'd me to use it.

From her time with the villagers previously Melkorios had picked up the Shield of the Goddess, allowing her to deflect any attack. There was no one in range to deflect the attack to at that time however.

At hex 80 Indigo is kidnapped by Aliens from outer space and subjected to cruel injections and tests. But by the time they're done she has grown to 26'9".

Lorekeep discovers a ring of ancient stones at hex 57, very similar to stonehenge. The sky darkens as the sun overhead is blotted out by an eclipse! The ring of stones start to glow, then shoot an enormous amount of energy into Lore. Lore looks on in wonder as she stretches higher and higher to 33'8"!

Lore is quite speedy now with such long legs and can now move 4 hexes at a time.

Actually its about the same as the last game now. Last game there were only 10 rounds (and only went to 9 iirc). We're already at Day 7.

I think that's because last game there were a lot of potions which would give "+ 5 feet", a static gain. At smaller heights they're much more powerful. So even tho someone would get shrunk, they'd bounce back quickly if getting those.

This game all the height increases are percentage-based, so it took some time in the beginning for the players to build up some height for the %'s to be really effective.

If Lore gets really, really lucky she can hit 50' next turn. But the game wont end, she'll also have to reach the exit. And who knows what kinda folks might be waitin for her near there brandishing weapons :)

You swim through strange glowing waters to a small island in the center of the lake. As you emerge onto its beach you are shocked (and excited) to discover you have gotten REAL big now. You've gone from 20'1" to 28'1"

This brings up a quick question. Is it possible to move through a space being occupied by another player, or do you have to either move around them or kick them out of the way?

There she finds ancient runes, norse in appearance. High upon an altar lay a large hammer with the inscription "Whosoever holds this hammer, if he be worthy, shall possess the power of ... Thor."

Melk grasps the hammer and is filled with power and energy, growing to 23'2"!

Ouch! Melk throws Thor Hammer at Lorekeep, Smiting her for 50% of her height! Lorekeep drops to 17'10". Lore can only move 2 hexes at a time now.

At Hex 47 Melkorios trips over an old power core, it looks like its trash from the nearby Exit Hex. As she picks it up it sputters with radioactivity one last time, increasing Melks height to 28'10.

At Hex 65 Vixen is attacked by giant insects! She's taken to their tree and cocooned! After some time passes Vixen rips open the cocoon, having grown tremendously while dormant, she is now 40'5". She can move 5 hexes at a time now.
