I agree. Most big budget films that have werewolves in the U.S. will have decent to great special effects (or at least impressive FX), but no heart put into the film itself. This can (and often will) bring the entire thing down. It's why I have such low expectations for transformations in these films.

You'd need Guillermo del Toro for that.
Have you seen the effects for Pan's Labyrinth, Crimson Peak or Hellboy? It's rarely CGI, and every creature is designed and the elaboration process is supervised by Del Toro himself.
I'm sure that if someone can pull a kickass werewolf transformation scene, it should be Del Toro. Now we just need to convince him to do something with werewolves.

Just to wish, why not a female AAWIL reboot directed by Quentin Tarantino with Chloe Grace Moretz and Jennifer Lawrence as the main cast? xD. Keep your feet on the ground, please :P

Or, we could totally wish for that thing that you mentioned! I like this idea.

I'd rather exchange Chloe Moretz for Mary Elizabeth Winstead. :P

Maybe.... maybe....... But I think Winstead is taken for a hoax remake of 50 ft Woman, that some troll posted a fake Wikipedia entry for. But hey, I'd take Winstead for both if the transformation scenes in each fetish were done phenomenally. Especially clothes bursting...

Back to the thread, Donald F. Glut has shown a photo in his facebook account showing the villainess of his upcoming film (provisional name "SheWolves"). The actress Tatiana DeKhtyar is stunningly beautiful, but I suspect that the movie (and the FX) would be bad as hell.
Well, they are actually in post-production, and it seeems that they are going to take their time, but as I said, don't expect too much on it.

i took the bullet this time..NO female tf really to speak of..the girl suddenly is naked and falls to all fours but proceeds to die right away.

Re: Female Werewolf needles in a haystack

skimmed through it a little, seems like what we saw in the trailers is what we get.
Ill try and watch it if I get time but looks like another disappointment.

This is why I should stop trusting reviews and really should stop getting excited for stuff like this but I think that by now its all part of the fun.

It should be said though that we actually do get a transformation scene were the woman in the pokkadot top tears off her shirt, and then turns into a werewolf. The effects are still a bit too cgi but pretty good for an indie film, and hey when do we get actually nudity in a tf. Also there is a face transformation near the end.
