This is a really good point, actually. londox, even if you're genuinely in this because you like SW and you do take my advice (spend time improving your craft before you try to sell), this stuff shouldn't be the only thing you write, and this forum shouldn't be the only feedback you get.

I did get some praise for the stuff, but were I to dive back in, I would pattern myself after works of mine like Discipline and Transmute: Gnome that are tight, focused, and about a singular scene or premise on superficial elements. I am a one-shot man.

Genuinely curious - who said something about digging up your old stuff? Or was this some other time?

And it's funny you mention this. It occurred to me earlier that the first SW story I ever wrote (at the tender age of 15) was honestly better than the one in this topic. (It's not very good by my standards now, of course...) Not trying to blow my own horn or be mean, but even back then I cared about trying to make my writing look good, and that really doesn't seem like the case here.

londox, I can understand the lack of polish if this was a first draft - but you know the thing about first drafts? Writers don't typically publish them.

Slight ribbing. You shouldn't expect more pokes about that one line. I try to keep my pokes fresh and topical.

Mmm. Fresh tropical pokes.

Oh, yeah, I kinda remember that now. Don't recall who was talking about posting your old stuff to mock you for it, though. I feel like maybe Sai?

Tropical pokes can get you diseases. Topical pokes are meant to reduce tension.

Mobile post with spell checker?
