Well this is sad. I didnt recieve a single peice of Artwork or a Story... sighs. I even broadened the contest range and everything and made it something everyone could have a chance at. What did I do wrong?

Re: 2 $200 contests!!

Personally, I'm not particularly motivated by art contests because of the possibility that I may do a lot of work and then get nothing for it.

In a race, the loser at least knows that the winner was in fact faster. But in an art contest I could loose to a work that I think is completely inferior.

So straight commissions are better. Or a contest where the artists send you a proposal, and then you pick the one you want to see.

It could just be that no one really felt artsy? If I had heard about this back then, I'd have gone with it. I'm always looking for an excuse to draw!

...and get money! XD

In my case, I just lost track of time and had other projects to work on.

Sorry!

Your remit was rather restrictive - essentially, you're corralling people into very specific fan fiction scenarios... from my perspective at least, that means it's not as if I'd be able to write a piece for fun and submit it, it would have to be specifically for the contest requirements.

Prof Sai is right, really... it's almost like an unpaid commission if you don't win.

I had the same result for one of my contests, so don't think it is just you.

I did start writing something, lost it started again forgot about it. One thing may have been your deadline was to long, so people put it on the back burner and then forget about it.

I had done a story picking up at the air temple, the previous air bender avatar spirit helping Aang find a scroll on how to to create elementals when I lost that I started on the process portion.
Anyway here is what I could find, it is really only a draft and IMO not very good.

Toph transformation
A cabinet of rock projected up from the floor of the air temple encasing Toph. Toph had always had a special connection to the elements of the earth. In fact she had always considered herself part of the earth, and the people of the Earth Kingdom knew that they returned to the earth ?dust to dust?. Toph had always taken great comfort in that.

She felt her body breaking down in to its elemental building blocks, Water separated into hydrogen and oxygen dispersing into the air. She was reduced to a pile of dust.

But she was still aware, she willed herself into the form she had held just moments before. A swirl of dust and metal particulates whipped around in a frenzy. Bonding together into a form that was recognizable as Toph.

And yet it she was no longer flesh and blood. Her skin turned black as skin turned to carbon. Her body had purge any non-earth components. Metals such as Iron, Copper, and Zinc grew in greater proportions filling the void. Toph was one of the few earth benders who could also bend metal. She found that with focus she could control where the metals came to rest in her body, She could have fists of iron if she wanted or copper skin.

Katara?s transformation

Katara had learned from the blood bender the control she could have over the human body though the high percentage of water every cell in the body contained it.

Aang?s transformation of her purified the water, removing the impurities. Beads of water appeared on her flesh. She felt body fluids surging. Muscle, flesh and bone disappeared leaving only water.

She was transfixed by the transformation. Her clothing was saturated. She let the soaked apparel slip through her body and fall to the ground as they were of little use to her in their current state or hers.

Katara stood there naked and wet. Her watery body holding the form she knew as her own. She has total control over her body now. She could adjust its proportions with but a simple thought. She could also change from liquid to solid or gas at a whim. Soon she discovered that she could with a degree of effort, she could be in all three.

Ice crystals began to form around areas of her body that she wished to conceal from the boys.

Re: 2 $200 contests!!

The idea of that contest was nice and seducing but like Prophet Tenebrae said it a bit restrictive concerning the characters and the theme.

All of the characters have a know background (atleast when you know the series) and so people reading stories about them have certain expectations about what they say or how they act (according to what they do and say in the series).

I had thought about writing a story for it but neither could decide what series to take (of those i knew pretty good and like ...not that many of those on your list ..Marvel...One piece .... i know almost all of the rest but not that well) nor what character and when i did could not come up with a decent idea fitting taht character. I can imagine thet this was teh case for othersthinking about taking part in your cointest as well.

Its just a idea but maybe next time make more open contest with a ceraztian date and with just a theme and now restrictive use of charactersa nd forget about a monetary price (so that nobody feels like a real loser when his or her entry does not make it to first place or doesn't feel the way prof Sai said it when doing a picture for it) and instead come up with a story for the best story and a picture for the best picture.

This. Anything else I put here would just dilute the message.

Well I never relized the contest was around. I might have done a bit of work for it, but I just been project and time restricted lately.

The 10,000 word tf sequence would have killed it for most good writers
