Watch this extremely funny video featuring David Tennant(Dr. Who) and you'll see a doll transformation at the end.

A google search of "doll panic manga" reveals that it is "Doll Panic Yuririchan" by Matusda Hiroya.

Found it here too:

Looks like there are no other works, oh well.

I already have an outline of what the story is.

back-fired revenge.
I would also like to see this translated.

Is there anyone here whos interested?

I translated it one night for fun/exercise. But plowing through the kanji was a real pain.

Wouldn't quite say the it's about revenge per se, but close enough.

I should have clarified.

I translated it. And discarded my scraps, which were mostly just pasted kanji/translations I held in Notepad.

Assuming someone on K-8's blog isn't going to like they talked about doing, translating and scripting this (again) will probably be my new pet project. With the concept of it fresh in mind, it should go pretty quickly, too.

You might be thinking of another author. Junji ito generally writes a good horror story and doesn't rely on grotesque torture to be involved.
Most of his takes involve ghosts, curses, and other fun things.

Re: Doll transformation

Actually, the more I think of it, it's a little hilarious. I mean, what do you suppose the thought process was for those parents?

"Our poor daughter has transmogrified into a wooden caricature!"
"Well let's at least keep her around... after all, it can't get any worse."
"Now her skin is breaking apart! It's awful!"
"Awful! Let us hope her suffering is ended."
"Her face is twisting into a horrific mockery and her limbs are elongating to uncertain proportions!"
"Maybe if we squint it will be like nothing's wrong."
"I think unholy tentacled horrors are birthing in her."
"That might be nothing."
"Should we burn her now? Her neck is lengthening and hideous insect-like legs are sprouting. And those tentacles aren't getting any smaller."
"Now, now. I'd say she's rather picturesque once you get used to her. And burning is such a hassle."
"Yes, but so is constantly vomiting from abject revulsion."
"Give it time."
"The smell isn't any great shakes either."
"That's easily solved with air fresheners."
"All the other parents are burning their kids."
"Exactly! Everyone's doing it. Let's be unexpected!"
"Seriously, I think it might be time to burn her. Every inch of her body is now an abhorrent writhing mass of alien biology."
"I know! Maybe she'll keep changing until she turns back into a little girl!"
"I don't think so. The parts are starting to detach from one another."
"Oh dear. Hum. Well, maybe we should burn her after all."
"But my show is on! Can't we do it later?"
"Alright, later. Maybe we'll change our minds. In fact, let's sleep on it another few nights."
"Okay. But not in the same room with it."
"Oh Heavens no."

Maybe. Did he do Uzamaki, the one with the twisting people, the snail people and such? Or the other one with dead fish attached to mechanical spider legs?

Then yeah, he is the one I'm thinking of and I very much find his work to be creepy beyond belief and dislike both what usually the story ends as, the drawing style and what usual happens in them. Even the TF he manages to ruin some how. Snail TF was the only thing I had no issue with but of course couldn't use a chick. >.<

...so you dislike his horror stories because you find them creepy? Isn't that the reason to enjoy a horror story?

The TF is not meant to be ideal or fetish material you know.

But I digress, Junji Ito does do a lot of great and creative stories. I have an archive and purchased quite a few of his works.

I don't consider what he does horror. I see what he does as a mindfuck of guro. Uzamaki was much more tamed so I can consider that a mystery horror but Gyo and some of his other stuff like that doll one are just twisted guro stuff.

Guro refers to ero guro, an art movement that started in japan in the 20's and 30's involving erotic imagery. The term is usually incorrectly used by westerners to describe "gore" or horror from japan. The term however fits with modern hentai artists who uses pornography and horror/violence together. An example of a modern guro artist is Suehiro Maruo.

Don't go all Bing commercial on me.

Pages four and five are clearly grotesque. If you put them in /f/ on Gurochan, people would probably find it erotic (if it's not there already). It's not a matter of whether the artist bills him or herself as a guro artist, but the merit of the content itself makes it fall under guro standards is what I'm saying.

Re: Doll transformation

If anyone remembers the film Dolls which was a bit of a satire of horror movies involving such subjects (made by the same guy who did ReAnimator), there was a few Doll TFs. Not very processy or pretty. However the end of the movie involves a male to male doll TF that was actually pretty well done.

chachazero90 04-05-2010 09:36 AM

Re: Doll transformation

I dont know the film.
I`ll certainly check it out when I have the chance.
LBH, it counts.

I Personally dont like manequins. They creep me out when you`re up and close.

I prefer a stuffed or minature version, its cuter.

Re: Doll transformation

Well, if you want to see the conclusion and the male TF of the movie, it is here.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sOHfLTtIcoc#t=6m4s

The female TFs are more gruesome and do not feature any process. They are earlier in the film, somewhere.

It's an enjoyable film. Just don't get your hopes up for the female TFs, it is hardly even that. As for the Nube manga, I cannot remember all of the TFs in it. But it seems to have everything. It's a neat manga in any case so you might as well check the whole thing out.

Oh easy going scans just translated ch.4, they may go to the end.

As to not stray from the topic, chapter 20 titled "the girl who brings good luck" that doll was so cute, I really hope she comes back.
Was she in the anime by any chance?

She appears here first in ch.20:
