Re: Test-0 Quickie Sketches Thread
"Just because it's tradition doesn't mean it's all you have to work with, girls! Straw dolls and clay idos may have been all the rage in the 1600s, but here in modern times we have all sorts of materials to work with! Here we see a young Voodoo practitioner, using the simple modern convenience of indoor plumbing as a focus to fit into her summer bathing suit a little better."

Yet again, no back story this time, make up your own. :)
I keep getting reason why people like my shrinking sketches, but a lot of the times I question, don't you see enough of it elsewhere? I guess not, because they still want me to draw more of them. ^^; Sketch for tonight: Just Something About Shrinking |
Re: Test-0 Quickie Sketches Thread
Prolly 'cuz they're so cute. :D
|
Re: Test-0 Quickie Sketches Thread
Hurray for shrinking. :D
I like the attention to detail in that one, even her hairclip is getting too big for her. |
Re: Test-0 Quickie Sketches Thread
Most shrinks get way too small. Your type is very rare and the best in my opinion.

Re: Test-0 Quickie Sketches Thread
Yeah, they're cute.
Plus she has a smiley face in her hair. o_o |
Re: Test-0 Quickie Sketches Thread
Tell me something, do you got to the point where you are not doing colored and detailed things anymore?
|
Re: Test-0 Quickie Sketches Thread
Well, not anything in this thread at least. I wouldn't have the time to do all that stuff. ^^;
But if you mean in the general sense, I still do them, but I don't see the point in doing them any more. I'll do my best when trading with someone or if I have a gift exchange or the like, but after all the times I'd do something nice and detailed with nice color and whatnot and it wouldn't get the even the tinyist bit of attention, not even if I had drawn it for someone specifically, it's sunk in that not enough people want it. I even asked people, should I do detailed and/or colored stuff and the answer was a resounding 'No, we like your crappy stuff more.'. I'm not going to actively things that take a lot more time and work if there isn't going to be anyone to view them. No hard feelings on it, just the facts stacking on top of each other. ^^; |
Re: Test-0 Quickie Sketches Thread
Seems like a perfectly logical reason not to do them in color to me. Sad though. :(

Re: Test-0 Quickie Sketches Thread
...Test. Do you really care about what other people think? Are you doing this for attention? Or because you love the art?
If you answered option number 2, THEN WHY THE HECK ARE YOU LETTING SOME PEOPLE THAT DON'T SAY OPINION REFLECT ON YOUR ART DECISIONS? Heck, I've drawn things so well detailed, and get little views! But you know what? That's OK! Really! I'm proud of the drawing itself, and the fact that I can do something that good, makes me happy. You shouldn't be sad or mad or frustrated about it. Sure, I mean recognition is nice and all, but is it everything you think about when you submit a deviation? And even if! even if! You get some recognition, it eventually dies out. Because an artist has to be fresh, creating something new all the time, not because he is obliged to, because his ideas won't let him sleep until he puts in paper. When you draw, if you have the time to draw, color, shade and detail your heart out! Just don't get frustrated about some views or comments. Heck even if you got comments it'd be 'oh kewl', 'fave', 'awesome', etc. And I will be one of the first ones to give out a long and concrete comment. TL;DR Vershun You should just draw because you like to, not because you will get comments, and even if you don't, you just keep on drawing. DO IT. |

Well I didn't say I wouldn't do it anymore, just that there isn't a point to it. I'd be lying if I said I don't do it for recognition in some way and having good work be ignored by even the person that it was meant for way too many times just tells me, stick with what I'm good at for the most part. But if you look in my gallery you should see there are a lot of higher res sketches and a bit more colored works then there ever was before. Simply enough, while I know it's the ass end of the deal, I still draw them ANYWAYS. I just don't learn my own lessons apparently. :)
...and now for less drama and more boob. More volume means more better! :D Sketch for tonight: More Volume |
