I was talking about this kinda thing in another thread: I'm normally not that big on SW, but when someone like you come in with a pic like this, I tend to ignore that little detail.

You pulled this one off very well, test; I especially like the softer lines you used for her hair.

Well now... time for the unfortunate truth. ^^;

I've been holding of saying anything about this for a very long time now, but now that I'm less then 12 hours away from what could possibly be a solution I feel now is the time to tell people.

A little under a year ago I discovered a lump on the top of my right hand. While not at all painful or the least bit obvious, the moment I noticed it things started to go downhill. Now before you get worried, as far as I know it's nothing serious at all. Though it took at at least four months after I first discovered it to find this out myself, I wasn't all that worried about it. However it did have it's toll.

As you might have noticed this past year with me hasn't been going so well at all. A lot of failed attempts at drawing things for people, games that were held off for long periods of time and so on. While other factors in my life were also a major cause for this the mass on my hand was always the main thing on my mind whenever I tried to draw. Even after learning for sure it was harmless and could be treated/removed it was still there, looking at me all creepy like. Well, not looking, it doesn't have eyes. That I know of. But I do in fact have eyes and they work very well thank you. :) Which also meant every time I would try to draw something, my attention would be driven toward my hand. This didn't exactly help out. ^^;

Now for some good news. Sometime 'tomorrow' (it's 5am here so really it's later on today, but whatever) I will be going to a doctor that, as far as I've been told, will be able to treat or remove the lump. I've actually had this appointment for several months now, but I decided it was better not to say anything until it felt like the right time. Well that time didn't come up and I've been holding it off ever since. That is until now. Well, not now, previously in time as you should already have read up to this point. :)

So what this means, in this order:

- If I get minor surgery to have it removed, then I will be unable to draw or use my right hand for stuff for at least two weeks, maybe more.

- If I get it treated instead (no surgery, some more minor method of getting rid of it) then my hand will need to take it easy for about a week.

- If I get there and the doctor doesn't do anything and instead just tests it or something like that, which is contrary to what I've already been told, then I'll continue to have a lumpy hand for a while longer.


...and there we go. I'm sorry I didn't say anything sooner, but I really didn't feel it was necessary until I thought I was already at the end of the line. I'll be sure to report back after the appointment so I don't leave people hanging. :o

Wow, the whole lump thing sucks. Cool that there's something that they can do about it.
I've got something like that, but it's on the back of my head. Doesn't bug me unless I'm lying on a flat surface. I've not had it looked at though.

Go for the surgery, man, get it the hell out of you, even if it takes a month or two of being unable to use your hand. You've only got one right hand and it's gotta last you the rest of your life.

Good news! They removed my hands and I no longer have to work another day in my life. :D

Actually the guy just looked at it, went "Yeah, that's easy to fix." and gave me an appointment on the 20th to get the thing removed. Not only that but it'll be a very simple easy procedure and recovery time will be likely less then a week. :D

The bad news is I'll have to work tomorrow. :(

sounds like a ganglion cyst. I have one, have had it for years. If you get it removed there is a likely chance it will come back.

Yeah, that's what he said was likely as well. He'll be taking a needle to it instead of full out removal of it (slice and dice!), which is a much better solution to removing it only to have it come back again. I just can't wait until it gets fixed, it's been bugging me for far too long. ^^;

I've had it 'aspirated' once, which would be using the needle. The cyst has a high chance of coming back. after like the 3rd time the chances of it coming back are almost 0.

That's good to hear. ^_^ Take as much time as you want to heal, hell you could take a month off if you wanted to, I can wait... well yeah not really. Hope it heals up nicely.

As for drawing, I've been a bit caught up with it all, thinking I was going to have it done with this week only to have to wait another week. I have very little to motivate me to draw right now, but one idea I've had was enough to bring me through to at least one more sketch before I actually get it fixed. ^^;

It's a belt caused TG, where the person in question was surprised from behind and had a belt slapped on him with his arms stuck inside the belt. The belt transforms the guy into the form the owner of the belt wishes, in this case a very odd mix of traits and clothing. Also, every tick of the belt tightens it more and more, only instead of crushing it pulls the clothing and body of the wearer inward, shrinking them as well. Here we see what should have been the last of the TG, only it seems the owner has decided to leave the belt on the poor TG for a little while longer, just to see him/her squirm and shrink.

I should have put some kind of reference to his size as well but I couldn't get anything else down. ^^; If it helps, he's already lost a foot in height during the time the TG was in effect and is closely reaching the second foot lost now. :)

Hey, I should probably draw something. ^^; So, uh, how about this: next three people that want to can post a link to one of my older drawings (at the very least a year old, preferably older) and I'll redraw it with much better...ness. :) Single image only, no sequences and no mass character images (3+ characters, that means no lightning rounds). Pick an old fav or just something you want to see drawn right, whichever. :)

I figure this should be a good way to get the creative juices flowing again. :)

Well, here's what I have done(ish) so far. :)

I decided on the frog one first as it's an easier one to redraw. Sadly I played a bit too much Little Big Planet before starting and gave myself a headache. ^^; I'll be going back on this one sometime tomorrow to finish it off. Fix the legs/feet, clean up some lines, so on. I think I might even go and color all these when their done. :)

For now, here's version .5 of the frog sketch. :)

Your artwork is all-round a LOT cleaner now than when you started out. Whilst I always really liked that back then, your stuff looks so much more... polished now. Looks like the years of exploitation (AKA practise) have had an effect on how you draw. :P

Sorry for the delays. ^^; It's been stupid busy at work for no discernible reason and we also gained a few new inhabitant there too: Cockroaches. I tend to avoid killing bugs (in fact I just plain don't, I set them free outside and I even feel bad if I've killed on on accident), but unfortunately with the roaches I don't have a choice.

They don't look like this though. :)

Luckily I have reached my normal days off of work, so I can get the sketches wrapped up soon.

Soy: I'll see what I can do after I finish the others. :)

Ah, I was kind of curious about Demon's Souls, but I don't have a PS3, and I think the only thing that'll get me to at least rent one is when The Last Guardian comes out. :P I've been playing Dragon Age: Origins myself, which is pretty great.

Demon's Souls is very skill based, only hard if your someone that can't learn from your mistakes. There's still a few ways in which BS plays in instead, but for the most part if you die in it, it's because you screwed up or need to learn to get better. I decided for my first run that I would use fist weapons only (still on that same run), forcing myself to learn to dodge instead of just block damage most of the time, so when it came time to actually block I was more then ready for many of the challenges. Also it makes me feel quite awesome when I down bosses most people died to over and over with optimal equips while I punched them to death while wearing tattered rags like a real man.

My first character is a female by the way. ;)

Since I bought a PS3 just for Demon's Souls, I can say it was well worth the price. :D

Nanako was my favorite character from Persona 4. She was very cute and little sistery. :3 While I never have played the game, I've watched the Persona 4 Endurance run of the game entirely within the span of a week and a half. I did this just shortly after I did the Chie BE request a little while back. :)

I was tempted to draw something of Nanako, AP definitely would be the perfect theme for her, but since she is a character I really like I'm a little worried to screw it up. ^^; But I will make the attempt. I just might not post it if it's really bad. <_<;

Glad to see that my Persona 4 birthday request quickly turned you into a fan of the game. Havn't really played a good JRPG in years now and I have to say Persona 4 probably now ranks up there as one of my top ones. Quick question, I see you watched the Endurance Run, always been a fan of Giantbomb or just happened to come across their ER?

Anyways, I'd love to see a Nanako AP and well of course any more processed versions of the P4 gals. So hope you'll share it with us all if you end up doing it. :)

For Giantbomb, I only knew about the endurance run from a Lets Play recommendation thread on SA. Now I only visit it for quick looks. :)

For the Nanako AP, I think I'll try and get something of it drawn up tonight. I haven't had much luck drawing too much of anything lately. I've been sleeping a lot, likely to catch up on all the late LATE nights I spend up. ^^; Something like this could help me on my way. :)
