I never said they'd cast that character, I was just answering someone's question about that transformation.

Ya know, anyone who's even the least little bit interested in this TV series, do yourselves a favor, read the books, they're better.

Okay so I haven't watched this week's episode... I'm not sure who is, if anyone. However, in my effort to find info on whether we can expect any tf this season I found this website. (SPOILER ALERT)

Of interest is the first one listed. Notice the pronoun and name.

Well the description of episode 5 comes as a mixed bag. If these are accurate it just confirms that season 2 is going to be a butchering of book 2 after all. It should have at least two involuntary female TFs if they actually followed the books, I really can't wait to see how they manage to fuck this up. But I can guess. Since they've got it so our main character has gained control of her transformation to the point that she can stop the TFs caused by trauma that in the first book resulted in full transformations while fully clothed and would have been epic if shown on camera, my prediction is that we will not be getting any clothed transformation from her as she would just will it to stop. The other woman will either die mid-TF as she almost did in the book, or it will be off-screen entirely. I could be wrong, but this series has been changing the story dramatically based on what seem to be the technical limitations of their effects team. With their CG transformations the characters have to be naked, so all clothed TFs were written out. She was supposed to tear out of her clothes under that car, instead she fought it off. She was supposed to tear out of her clothes in front of her boyfriend and reveal her secret, instead they kill him off (he lived in the book version but was in denial about what he saw).

I think the story of the show is pretty awful, at least the changes they made to it. I do like that we've got female werewolves on TV because of this, but it's so far from the source material that it lost a lot of what made the books good. The books had so much more nudity, sex, transformation, but they couldn't do that for this show. They watered it down, changed a huge chunk of the story. I would have preferred a movie adaptation that could have actually shown nudity and would have had more detailed TFs. That was in the works years ago but was scrapped for this thing I guess. It's at least better than the travesty that was the "Blood & Chocolate" movie, so it's got that going for it. It's got full wolf TFs instead of those things in Teen Wolf, so it's got that going for it, and it's got some actual nudity unlike She-Wolf of London, so it's got that going for it. I mean there are a few positive things to take away from it, but.... the story is still fucked and it's still obvious it was fucked because of technical limitations and an unwillingness to show more than an occasional ass (which belongs to a body double in the first place).

Completely agree with that, I couldn't have said it better. About the "hopes", yes, I bet for TF death without showing almost anything. And for not showing too much, I would also put the blame on Ms Vandervoort unwillingness for nudity (yes, she actually DOES for those peta assholes advertisement). Well, we will see what happens in these next two or three episodes.

She's not naked in those PETA ads either, body-paint and panties, side boob. No, she's not nude in those. She's probably a robot, doesn't want anyone to see her USB ports or something...:p

Ooh, at least we can get in internet photos of her "privates"... err ankles xD.

Update: yes, Elena turns into werewolf. Just hands and furry back, after 30:00 or so... silver medal at "TF speed" just defeated by the wolves of twilight. No surprises this year, they have saved the money of the body double.
Good thing-> in the next preview we see Dr Bauer (Carly Street) with her ritual cloak to be helped by Elena into her first change.
More news in seven days, but as we all knew, don't expect much.

It is a stand-alone program. The bad thing is that it has just the purpose of letting you navigate in other countries... well, and also there is a "navigation quota" of 500MB + 1GB if you tweet them per month. The good thing is that it is very simple to use (on, off, country...). A pleasure for lazy people or simply a bit clumsy to use those ultra sophisticated VPN working stations. So, no IP, no configurations... just navigate :).

Yeah, I've had that too. the problem is that it fails miserably in space.ca websites, at least from Europe.

as always, another disappointing off screen tf. you would think they would show it being there hasn't been any full tfs shown this season.

I too, was disappointed by this given that the build up to it was going quite nicely. I'm not giving up on this series just yet though. There's still five more episodes left and I'd like to think that maybe the lack of TFs now are building towards an exciting season finale. Season One had a sort of lackluster finale because they clearly maxed out their FX budget in the early episodes to build an initial interest in the series.

No. There won't be more better chances than this one ever in the series because:
-In season 1 they did the two first in episode one to "convince" about the viability of the series... I mean, they needed to sell it, and expent some money on it. The one in episode five was going to be "the big one", and we can say that they showed "half" transformation.
-This was the biggest one in this season. The script going in the right direction, the inclusion of Dr. Bauer, the (finally misleading) synopsis... they chose an incredible competent theatre actress (Ms. Street). And they botched. Off screen? Again?
-The last episodes, but in general the whole series, were done quickly so fewer FX had to be planned, for sure.
-The money dedicated for the second season tends to be reduced from the first, here, and also in other series. The FX are the first victims.
-For the rest of the season there are no other female werewolves than Elena. And she is not going to be naked. As I said some posts before, they have saved money and did not contracted a body double.

I am more than dissapointed, so right now I have zero expectations about having anything decent from this series... if you ever read what happens in the compound in the book, you will be overcome with the desire to crush some script writer's head. Or getting them transformed offscreen too.

I better prefer not thinking about what could have happened with "Bitten the movie", some years back with Angelina Jolie

Actually, who knows? Isn't Jolie the one who played Grendel's mother in the Beowulf movie?

I dimly recall her mentioning actually enjoying stuff like the tail and "built-in stiletto heel" spurs the character sported(though, I could be recalling wrong) in interviews when the movie had just begun coming out.

I can't imagine a movie version would have been any better than the TV series, especially considering the cast they were shooting for, there would have been no money left for effects after getting their star actors. I would wager that had something to do with it ending up in development hell and then being canceled entirely.

Yeah, it was kind of "what if" thought. Sometimes it is difficult to understand that their budgets tend to be quite tight, as well as other problems (censorship, actors availability and contractual issues, the public target expected by the tv channel, and so on).
I am usually like a "drama queen" when the final product is not what I expected, but in my defence, I really believe that sometimes things could be done in a different way, and sometimes they (producers, script writers, FX artists) don't simply believe in themselves, don't risk at all in their proposals.

Back to the series, and as I said, in terms of female TF there is nothing to expect in this season, and neither in the next ones if they follow up with the events from the books. Said this, I will keep on watching it, as long as I find it entertaining :o.

It finished long ago, buddy (Space.ca). The quantity and quality of TFs in the show is dramatically decreasing, so during the next season (filming) I expect a nail TF in the best case xD. Prepare, nail fetishists!!! :D

Stop necro'ing threads with random comments about tails... How old are you? Old enough to even be on this forum?
