next grOw/cOmic to be a GTS story.
1 Attachment(s)
Most of the previous grOw/cOmic series focused on BE, with some forays into GTS. grOw/cOmic#5 will do the opposite. It will, of course, contain a nice amount of BE. However, this will be the first series whose storyline actually focuses on growth and GTS. Other themes throughout the entire series will be some tall girl, miniGTS, growth, AE, clothes ripping, some light vore, GTS/normal-guy sex, sitting, smothering, insertion, building destruction, and all around "BA fun". Attached are previews from the first 6 pages of the 18 pages that will comprise issue 1 when it is completed (the series will be 5 issues long). Enjoy!

Re: next grOw/cOmic to be a GTS story.
If I can be perfectly honest, BA, I kind of wish you could put out a comic that wasn't so painterly (for lack of a better term). I'm not saying that I dislike the work you've been doing (having bought nearly all the grOw comics). Nor am I implying that it'll take less time so as to put out more content.
What I mean is, while looking through your blog, I really dug the pencil drafts more than the final versions. I guess what I'm saying is I like the complete hand-drawn look to the fully colored one. Plus, viewing those old sketch comics from the BE Archive was what got me into your work. But hey, that's just me and my little opinion. You keep up the great work, and I'll be sure to buy it :) |
Re: next grOw/cOmic to be a GTS story.
I'll second that, I'm more a fan of your simpler line drawings. Plus, if that would mean pushing your fantastic work out faster...
|
Re: next grOw/cOmic to be a GTS story.
JBird (and chucarlin): I understand the admiration of the pencil medium, especially coming from someone with a DA page like your's. :D I was a mostly-pencil kinda' guy back then, drawing and sketching everything in b&w pencil. Then I started with color markers and airbrush. And then... Photoshop came along. :D I do need to get back to doing more pencil-shading type drawings -- smelling the graphite, feeling the smudging on my fingertips. Ahhhh....
Oddly enough, it wouldn't speed up my production. I think it would actually slow me down. Pencil is much harder, and less forgiving. A mistake can easily be fixed digitally now. Pencil --- ugh! :) |

New previews! Pages 7-12 of issue 1.
Also, here is the current break-down of the 5 chapters (unless I make modifications during production?which I occasionally do): Issue 1: "Previews" ? Re: next grOw/cOmic to be a GTS story.
Glad to know that I didn't come off as some ungrateful troll :D
Plus, I have to say that I kinda feel spoiled with PortalComic's work over on Giantess Club. It just clicks, for me. Also, these issue descriptions make me want this series now, rather than later :P Important Edit: Please keep in mind that I'm not trying to say that you should be like another artist. I just have a hard time trying to make sense of the things that fall out of me head >_> |
Re: next grOw/cOmic to be a GTS story.
Ohhhh my this is gona be awesome!

Re: next grOw/cOmic to be a GTS story.
Guess there is going to be a serious mind blown epidemic around the globe when this comes out...
Not that it is a problem for me. Mine already was blown a few weeks ago :P Seriously, couldn't you just go fulltime drawing these kind of comics? I could never get enough of your work... :D |

The last 6 previews have been completed (ages 13-18) for issue 1. I am now working on the covers for issue 1 and 2. Why issue 2? Because I always show the next cover at the end of the issue for a "sneak preview" of what's coming down the pike.
Then, its final proofreading, compiling into PDF, and setting up the store. I am hoping for a release early next week. (See attached image.) And now for some replies, which I've been meaning to get to, but have been too busy to do so: JBird: NP. There are many styles out there, and none are "it" for everyone. That's OK. Portal Comics does have some nice stuff! Definitely the comic book/cell shading style and nice poses to boot. I have gravitated towards a more painterly feel, with soft shadows and modeling. Comes from my experience as a professional photo retoucher (I've been using Photoshop for almost 20 years now, since version 2.5). 75thp: I hope so! :) Phoenix: I truly am working towards that "full time" goal. Not sure if I ever will reach it. Hard to survive when there are 3 months between releases. However, for good or bad, the last 2 months have nearly been that, as my "real life" work has been very slow (which has been painful on the wallet), but has allowed my to pump out this issue quite quickly considering all the work involved. :) |

Lorekeep and DrPaine: Thanks! Glad you are enjoying the previews. I put a lot of work into this one.
In fact, I finished the covers for issues 1 and 2 tonight (issue 2's cover is for a sneak preview at the end of issue 1). (Attached is a preview of issue 1's cover.) I also completed my proofreading and edits of the issue. I began setting up the store for the release and will continue tomorrow morning. Most likely, grOw/cOmic#5, "grOwing Appreciation", issue 1 (titled "Previews") will be released sometime tomorrow! Whoot! |
grOw/cOmic#5 issue 1 RELEASED!
2 Attachment(s)
The first GTS-focused comic in the grOw/comic series has been RELEASED at http://www.bustartist.com !
grOw/cOmic#5, "grOwing Appreciation" (5-issue series) Chapter 1: "Previews" 18 color pages, plus 2 cover versions, and special "Going to the Movies" Image Appendix Jack was ecstatic, as any giantess fan would be! His favorite movie, "Assault of the Fifty Foot Woman" had been remade by the huge Hollywood director, Stephan Spelburg! He HAD to see it! Upon arriving at the theater on opening night, however, he was disappointed with the turnout, as people stayed home in droves due to a freak solar flare phenomenon. Even his girlfriend Jennie, arriving dressed "in costume" for the premiere, did little to mollify his frustration over a streak of bad luck that night. But strange forces were at work in the theater that night as Jennie soon discovered that her clothes were getting tighter... and shorter. Category: GTS (Tall Girl, <9'; Gentle), slow growth, Breast Expansion (unknown: big, huge), clothes ripping; as well as scenes of GTS (50'), growth, building destruction. AVAILABLE NOW AT http://www.bustartist.com ! (Visa, MC, PayPal) |
Re: next grOw/cOmic to be a GTS story.
Shut up and take my--! Oh yeah, I've already bought it. :P
Cool stuff, and I can't wait for more. Also, while I saw that you purposely spelled those celebrities' names differently, I still read them the normal way. |
Re: next grOw/cOmic to be a GTS story.
I like the way you had the intro trailor. I too read the misspelled celeb names normally. Great intro for whats to come. Gotta warn those looking for real growth and GTS action they won't find it here. This was just a set up, but I'm sure there will be more in the 2nd chapter.
|
Re: next grOw/cOmic to be a GTS story.
JBird: Thanks for the $upport! Just enough change to the names to say "I didn't mean him". ;D
kuenbu: Glad you like the trailer (and the subsequent full-screen Appendix version, yes?)! I wouldn't quite say you "won't find" any growth or GTS action in this issue, however. True, that main story is categorized (see previous post #11 of this thread) as "Tall girl, slow growth" but also has "images of GTS (50'), growth, and building destruction" for a number of panels and pages in the beginning (and reprised in a larger format in the Appendix). This is the first step of a larger story taking place over 5 issues (again, see post #11). Hope you enjoyed the sneak preview of issue 2's cover! :) |

Noooooooo!! Cliffhanger! :P Yep, that's how good both the plot and artwork were in Issue1: had me itching for more. Nice work and I like your art style with the gradual growth pace. I did promise you I would purchase it BustArtist, didn't I? Mission half accomplished until Issue2 is completed. Best of luck.

Re: next grOw/cOmic to be a GTS story.
Dammit, Baracus, it cuts off just when the good part is starting! Why would you-- Oh. "Previews."
http://cache.ohinternet.com/images/2...here_super.jpg Ok, so I liked it. Looking forward to issue 2. Got a couple of questions/concerns. 1. Will Stacky be back? I really would hate for those--er, HER--not to make another appearance. 2. Related: Will there be more than one giantess in the storyline? 3. I look at the content tags and I see that apparently the growth continues right up through the last issue, as the "GTS" is bigger each time. But I only see clothes bursting in the first two issues. That's, like, my favorite part of the growth process, and I'm not the only one. Any chance more of that might be incorporated? There are ways for giantesses to come up with things to cover themselves (the better to grow out of at their next spurt). |
Re: next grOw/cOmic to be a GTS story.
Damn you and your cliff hanger!! This was such an amazing start its not even funny, i cant wait to see the next few issues!!
|
Re: next grOw/cOmic to be a GTS story.
Dammit! Curse myself for being poor!
|
Re: next grOw/cOmic to be a GTS story.
Volfsbayne: Thanks for the $upport! It's the only way I can spend the huge amount of time on the grOw series! :) Expect more cliffhangers in the future. :) Glad you liked the growth so far, but we are only getting started (you may have read the episode breakdown earlier in this post).
qzar9999: See cliffhanger reference above. :) Also, the chapter title "Previews" refers to a lot of things: previews as the first part of a movie experience (since that is the setting); previews as showing things to come; previews as in hints and foreshadowing; and, of course, the opening of the chapter. 1. Stacky and TLink were walk-on guest stars (and TLink-approved). They were only scripted for issue 1 as you've seen. 2. This is a very focused issue, and we've only begun to understand the characters. There will be more coming in future issues, so there is no room for more. The storyline focuses all around Jennie's experience (and the other character's reactions). 3. There may be other "things" she bursts out of. You will see by the episode outline that there comes a point when real "clothes" are impossible. ;D 75thparellel: Heh heh. I am glad you liked the beginning so much! And, we are only getting started. BlazingBarrager: In these times, take care of things you need first. Then, when you have some extra disposable income, it will still be here. :) |
Re: next grOw/cOmic to be a GTS story.
This is my favourite of your comics BA :) I Absolutely love the slow growth and how you are dealing with it.

For the last week or so, I have been working hard at pencil drawing issue 2 of the grOw/cOmic#5 series. Chapter 2 will be titled, "Big Screen Premiere!" and feature: miniGTS (<20'), BE (huge), AssE, clothes ripping, sitting, sexual situations (mF).
I had hoped to be further along in terms of page count; however, looking back at how much work I had to do to get to this point, I am not disappointed. This issue so far has some of the most detailed and "background interactive" drawing so far. Between the characters engaging with the background, or dramatic angles and "camera work", I've had to do some serious planning before hitting pencil to paper. I've also had to set-up and render the backgrounds to almost 75% of the panels before I drew anything, so that the camera angles would come out correct. This amount of background pre-rendering is more than any other grOw/cOmic I've done! Six more pages to go, and then it will be time for ink and paint! And then, the full-color previews will begin again! Enjoy the pencil preview for now! Quote:

The pencil drawings for issue 2 have been completed! Titled "Big Screen Premiere!", issue 2 will be 18 pages long. I also was able to take the time to scan the pages, and make the necessary adjustments to them as well. All of this work will allow me to start on the ink and painting of them today! During the process, I had to prerender most of the backgrounds ? to make sure that my drawings would align to them properly. Having done this will help speed up the completion of issue 2. Enjoy the second pencil preview for now. Color previews of each page will be showing up soon!

The previews for issue 2 begin with this sneak peak of page 19 (which is the first page of issue 2). This page took a little longer than I thought it would, as I was dealing with some "real life" work, as well as getting used to the new Adobe Creative Suite CS6 upgrade that I just switched to a week ago. Enjoy! It's now on to page 20...

I made really good progress today, completing the second page of the second issue ? page 20. This page was an easier page, and thus, I was able to pump it out just 1 day after the last. The next page, however, may take a bit more, as it is noticeably more complicated. Enjoy!
75thparellel: Sorry. Not yet. I working hard on the issue to get it out as soon as possible, though! Hang in there! . |
Re: next grOw/cOmic to be a GTS story.

Taking extra time due to its complexities, multiple panels, and numerous facial expressions, page 21 is now complete! This was a great page to work on, with lots of angles and close-ups of certain... ahem... fun parts! :) I think the preview says it all. Enjoy!

Whoot! Another day, another page! I was able to pump out page 22 in only one day, getting a second preview to this post in as many days. The next page won't be so quick, as it is a much more detailed page. Until then, enjoy the newest preview, which is the color version of a pencil preview shown earlier for this issue.
75thparellel: Well, without giving away any specific details, I would scroll back up this post to pahe 1, post#11 for some info on that subject. :) JBird: An interesting idea. I will have to ponder it. I will also have to get the "permission" of said people that that couple is based on. :) DeviantArt, anyone? |

Whew! This last page was a detailed one, but I was finally able to complete it, and can now present the preview for page 23. The more people in a scene (especially if their faces are shown), plus the more panels on a page, can all add up to more time needed to finish. Faces require much more detail, and that detail also takes extra care to craft properly. This page had 10 bodies and 8 faces.
Enjoy the preview! And to my U.S. readers, enjoy the Memorial Day holiday weekend! |
Re: next grOw/cOmic to be a GTS story.
Now that looks like a nice ass! lol

Re: next grOw/cOmic to be a GTS story.

Well, it took a while as compared to the last few pages, but I was finally able to finish page 24. A number of things caused the completion of this latest page to take longer, including: the Memorial Day weekend, "real life" work, some red tape with my website host, and the fact that this page is quite complicated in terms of detail, faces, overlapping of items, and background integration. The "overlapping of items" refers to instances such as (but not limited to) when the main girl has torn clothing (which may overlap other body parts), may be wearing tight clothing (in which skin may overlap), and hair. When you have these areas of overlap, it takes more time to isolate and mask these areas so that they can be colored. Plus, just the fact that there are more "area to color" takes longer as well.

Re: Page 25, next grOw/cOmic to be a GTS story.

Take a day longer than I had anticipated, I was finally able to complete page 25 this morning. Again, detail, overlapping, dramatic angles, and integration with the backgrounds took extra time to finish this page.
As I was writing this for my blog, I saw that I had made a glaring mistake ? an omission, to be exact. (It is not part of this preview.) I will need to go back and correct this before moving on to page 26. It shouldn't take too long, but will take a little work. In the meantime, enjoy page 25's preview! I know some have been waiting for this one since I showed it in pencil form. |

Currently, the new store is at: http://www.bustartist.us I am working on getting my http://www.bustartist.com domain transferred to it, but am having some difficulties (which I believe will eventually be resolved). Good news for the new store: ? Immediate access to the link to download upon purchase! No more waiting for emails and putting in download links!! ? Eventually, a nicer website, instead of the old, clunky grid store. ? Better download speeds! Larger files can be handled. It is looking like the death of my old Hosting service is a blessing in disguise, but it's a lot of work to get this up and running again. |

Whoops! Forgot to post the latest preview!
I took a break from all the red tape, setting up, HTML programming, email configuration, etc., etc., etc., for the creation of my new website and eCommerce store to finish page 26, which was 80% done when my old store imploded into a black hole. Thanks for all your patience as I dealt with this disaster. Over the next few weeks or so, I will be working concurrently on building out my new store as well as working on issue 2 of grOw/cOmic#5. As for the store, my initial goal is just to get all the grOw products up and running. Once that is done, I will put my full focus on completing issue 2. When that is done, I will return to my store and work on a nice, professional design. But www.bustartist.com is working again! Yay. For now, enjoy the preview! |

Still chipping away at issue 2 (titled "Big Screen Premiere!") of grOw/cOmic#5 with the completion of page 27. All in all, progress is slowly getting back up to speed in this issue. We are now at the halfway mark for issue 2! Nine more pages to go and the cover of issue 3 (to appear at the end as a sneak preview).
The newly update website store is slowly growing as well. I added more products tonight, and will continue to do so "after hours", so that I don't slow down the production of the latest grOw/cOmic. Enjoy! Quote:

I made sure to finish up this page today so that I could get one more preview in before the weekend. Page 29 was a great page to work on, with plenty of nice close-ups and detail.
On the website/store front, the grOw/cOmics and grOw/stOries are slowly being added to the "functional" store (www.bustartist.com). As mentioned earlier, I will work on the website "after hours" so that I can continue to make progress on the current project ? grOw/cOmic#5 issue 2. For now, the store will be "functional" and not too "snazzy". After all the grOw products have been integrated into the store, I will then work on a new design to make to better, with more features. |

It's been a few extra days longer between this and the last update as compared to the pace of the current issue, but I was finally able to complete page 30. This represents the 2/3 mark for the issue, leaving only 6 pages to go! A combination of "real life" work, some issues with the new store, and details on this most recent page, were the reasons for this page taking longer. All-in-all, it wasn't too much more time, but in case you were wondering. Enjoy the preview! It's on to page 31, and the last third of the issue for me!
