Senran Kagura 2: Deep Crimson
 

Recently I discovered that the latest Senran Kagura game for the 3DS, Senran Kagura 2: Deep Crimson, has a bit of DLC with substantial BE involved.

It's the third DLC Pack, titled "Burst".

In the DLC, Mirai (in the gothic black), the least busty of the main cast, seems to have obtained a special milk that can increase breast size. From the looks of it, the BE can happen with more than just her:

Unfortunately I don't have a Japanese 3DS so I can't confirm how extensive the BE content is, but if anyone does, here's a lead!

The American version could be highly altered, which if that is the case why even release it to America. Also hope come to shinovi versus on ps vita

This is a separate game from the Burst that is available on the DS store. I haven't been able to find what the dlc is called but this is how the names go
1-Senran Kagura: Shōjo-tachi no Shinei and Senran Kagura Burst(Burst is the original game plus new storylines, this is what is available on the DS store)
2-Senran Kagura 2: Deep Crimson (apparently with enhanced breast physics or so says wikipedia).

Ps. seeing as the original localization of burst went from Japan release in August 2012 to a english digital download in January 3013 look for the sequel to be released this January as the Japan release was this August.

For some reason, there are two things named Burst in the SK series. One is a game (which looks like an enhanced version/expansion pack type thing of the original game), one is a DLC addition to SK2: Deep Crimson (that contains the boob size changer).

Correct. The first thing called "Senran Kagura: Burst" was a semi-sequel of sorts to the first game in Japan, which added a new campaign for the girls at the "evil" Hebijo Academy, essentially doubling the content of the first game, which only had a campaign for the "good" Hanzou academy's girls. This "Burst" is the one that released on the US eShop.

This thread is about the 3rd DLC pack for the official numbered sequel, Senran Kagura 2: Deep Crimson, also titled "Burst." No word yet on whether this game will see a US eShop release as well, but considering how other spinoff games in the series (like Shinovi Versus and that rhythm cooking game for the PSVita) have been making it over, it may just be a matter of time.

Another consequence of the bust size changer in the DLC, I think. Don't know if all the sizes can be set by the player, or if it's dictated by the DLC's story.

I've been on the fence for this game for the longest time. Even when it was on sale (not sure if it's still discounted at the time of writing), I still didn't jump on it. The only deciding factor would have to be a playable demo. I understand that it is a beat 'em up, but there are games of the genre that can be awesome and fun, or play like crap, in my opinion.

No pun intended, but I need to get a feel of the game before I put any money into it, regardless of the shallow fanservice appeal.

I have Senran Kagura Burst, and though it was mostly just button mashing, it was fun enough that I played through both campaigns, though not nearly fun enough for me to 100% it. Some of the hoops they tell you to jump through in order to unlock all of the gallery art are tedious as hell.

The good parts of gameplay are racking up super-long combos (air combos in particular are a big part of the system), and using big fancy moves to take down several enemies at once. And since you level up over time you also feel a bit of progress as you learn new special moves and combo chains. Eventually you can drop into some older missions and destroy everything once you've leveled enough, which is satisfying. There's also a total of 10 different characters (+ 2 unlockable) to try out, each with their own feel.

The bad parts are that sometimes the game's just plain unfair: You might get hit by one enemy, and then just get stunlocked as all the other enemies dogpile you to death, which is downright infuriating in some of the harder missions. The framerate is also an issue-- it drops severely during most battle cinematics as well as whenever a lot of crap's going on. And the repetitive nature of the game also makes it hard to play for more than an hour or so at a time. Story's pretty forgettable and cliché as well.

I hear the 2nd game is actually pretty great as far as gameplay.
Bosses are way harder with you getting combo'd and countered constantly if you aren't aware of the telling animations they'll strike.

The problem is that a lot of players HATE the game for being so hard.

When does it actually get interesting. I keep on finding that the same boring combo works for practically everything. Spam Y until the green circle appears, press A, spam Y a bit more, maybe press X Get to ground, lather, rinse, repeat.

It doesn't get much more interesting than that, I'm afraid. =\

You can spend time unlocking the 2 extra ninja-arts for each character, and just generally grind levels until you're OP and self-sustaining enough that you can ninja-art nearly all the time, but the gameplay is pretty much as you say. There are some minor variations, like once you unlock a certain style mode you can juggle in the air pretty much forever so long as your fingers are fast enough-- but it's all pretty much the same. That is, unless you're Hibari, who has an insane aerial X attack that you can just spam everyone to death with. It's ridiculous and pretty fun-- for a little while.

But honestly, if you're bored to death after a few chapters, the game may not be your cup of tea. And that's fine, because like I said it's totally just a button masher, and the fanservice gets pretty samey too. Some of the outfits are kinda neat, but if the game feels tedious the whole time I wouldn't call them worth the effort.

But! Since SK2 actually seems to have some BE content, perhaps the new game's a little more interesting than its predecessor. I'm a fan of BE where a flat-chested girl who wants to be busty finally gets what she wants, so I'm interested to see if there's any real story to Mirai or if it's just "hey I found this flimsy explanation for a breast size slider option".

From the looks of it, I think its more of a Breast Transfer between Mirai and the main heroine. Too bad the process happens off-screen though :( I had high expectations for this.

Nice find! I've been wondering about this for a while. Thanks.

So from the looks of it, Asuka's boobs are growing (they look bigger than usual for this dlc) and she finds it bothersome. Then Mirai bursts in with weird medicine she stole from Haruka that will trade their bust sizes as they fight together in battle. Mirai's always wanted boobs, so win-win!

Haruka eventually comes by to warn them that the medicine is dangerous and liable to give them a disabling obsession with breasts. Mirai and Asuka don't listen at first, and go picking fights so they can trade boobs. It gets out of hand and eventually they both realize that fighting only for boobs is not why they are shinobi (though some fans of the series would beg to differ).

Then you get the clichés and the conclusion that they both just want to be themselves again with no changes whatsoever, so they fight the one person who can revert them, and then everything's back to normal.

If you understand what they're saying, Mirai's excitement over her growing boobs is great-- and it would've been nice to at least end the DLC with her getting a little bump up-- but oh well.

Looks like there is some sort of option in the menus afterward to give the characters different bust sizes, but the video didn't show the bottom screen where he was messing with it.

For content available on a Nintendo system-- not bad!

Okay, so I started playing it, and as someone stated earlier in this thread, it is substantially more difficult than the first game! Particularly during the boss battles against other main shinobi, if you don't wait for an opening and retreat properly, you will be destroyed.

Also, whereas the first game was more of a side-scrolling beat'em-up, this one's more '3D', so it's easier to lose track of enemies and miss attacks because you weren't facing the right direction. You also can't deal additional hits on defeated enemies to maintain your combo, which becomes a pain in frantic situations. I'm gonna need a lot of practice...
