Favorite Part of a Shrinking Sequence?
 

So there's a subtle little part to every shrinking photo manip, comic, sequence, or story that I find very enjoyable and most folks probably don't even notice.

I love the part, right when the process starts to accelerate a bit where the woman's pants sag down a bit and her butt is exposed. Just that little, subtle image is probably my favorite part.

I love the "realisation" stage. Even in situations where she knows she's shrinking, there comes a moment when it sinks in around the 4ft mark she really notices how much bigger the world is getting, and her clothes, and she's watching things like maybe a doorknob rise higher on her as she dwindles or as another spurt comes on. That stage where, if everything stopped, she could still get around and have a seminormal life, but it would still be a journey of discovery as she adjusts to how different everything really is. It's why I love slow shrink, and long spurt stories or sequences best. It gives her that time to process what's going on, and I absolutely love sizes where the woman still has some semblance of being able to get around on her own, like the 4ft to 2ft range.

So before I can describe my favorite moment I have to describe my favorite type of shrinking. I love it when a girl shrinks from arousal. I love it when it becomes a reciprocating cycle where her shrinking arouses her and her arousal shrinks her.
For me it's the moments just before they realize they can't stop and they like it. They've already given into the desire but they don't know it yet.
The story "A Short Experience" does this moment brilliantly.

That's my favorite too. Sucks not as many creators are featuring it in comics and videos as much as they used to.

Probably, the moment when the reality of the situation sinks in, around the 4 ft mark, as the clothes continue to get loose. And her body dwindles, her eyes get wide, and all the better if she spells out her situation with those two words:

"I'M SHRINKING!!!"

Everyone likes the realization. I also like it when the woman is wearing a hat that slips over her eyes so she has to lift it up to see.

It's very much an emotional reaction thing for me. Discovering things you can't do any more - or figuring out how to do them differently. The difference in how people see you or you see them. Shrinking in spurts is a bonus because it can call back the panic when the heroine is trying to concentrate on something else. Hence unaware shrinking can be dull to me.

Clothes falling off sounds fun in theory, but it practice the images often come across as vulgar to me. I think it is some technical issue that I don't know how to describe or fix.

Turnoffs: Dumb and/or mean characters. Villains are necessary, but there is no need to dwell on how awful they are, unless you are planning some meaningful growth of their characters.

Kinda playing on the realization moment, one of the all time great SW video moments occurs at the beginning of Red Parrots Office Politics.

When, the girl in the blue dress first gets covered with the shrink powder, her reaction is priceless. She gasps, wide eyed, probably instantly realizing what's about to happen to her.

Theres a great sound effect as the powder starts to instantly work (I cant describe it, but it sounds like a balloon being rubbed).

Then, she sneezes, and shrinks in mid sneeze, a genius effect focusing on her breasts falling into her now oversized dress and bra.

The sneeze / shrink brings the reality of her situation to her, and all she can utter is "shit" as her rings fall off, and she begins to slowly shrink.

Of course, a great sequence follows, seeing her shrink out of her clothes and declare as her voice gets higher "this cant be happening" and "what am I gonna do" until she's a mere six inches tall.

But that initial gasp, followed by the sneeze / shrink is why RP is so revered.

Oh yeah, all about the realization. When it's no longer deniable what's happening. Unaware shrinking isn't fun for me. I like her knowing it's happening and terrified about when (or if) it'll stop.

And I'll agree about "Office Politics". That moment when the powder gets on her and she KNOWS what comes next. That's almost as awesome as the shrinking that follows.

The 'Realization moment' is the best because, up until then, the woman hasn't got a clue. From that moment on, everything...EVERYTHING that's happening to her is magnified (pardon the pun) because not only is she aware that it's happening...but she's also seeing everything around her in a completely different way than she did before.

Arousal can be fun, but it's hard to justify because if you're going to make it believable, there's got to be an actual REASON for the arousal. Perhaps the way her clothes are sliding off her body? Maybe she inadvertently reaches down and touches herself. In order for it to be enjoyed, it has to be believable.

I almost wish that moment had been drawn out a bit more. But it is perfect, from the gasp, to the sound, even the look of panic on her face as she feels the sneeze coming on.

Had it been drawn out, there might be a slight moment where she thinks, "well, it worked on that dog, maybe it doesn't work on humans." Then, the sneeze / shrink removes all doubt.

I totally agree. But I would also posit that somewhere between 'unaware' and 'undeniable' there's the 'denial' phase. The part where she thinks she might have shrunk, but passes it off as a ridiculous notion. That being said, the exact moment when it goes from deniable to undeniable is certainly one of the highlight moments of the shrinking process. But I really like 'shrinking smaller than a doll' and "Oh no, I'm still shrinking" or "It's happening again" type of stuff too.

Yes! Terrified about when or if it will stop!

Her first shrinking spurt in that video is the best produced special effect of all the fetish videos.

To answer the original topic -
Our subject gets dosed/spelled/whatever by accident, or somehow by her own fault.
There's a nice, slow, really subtle shrink to start things off. She doesn't even realize anything is happening.
Maybe she feels an unexplained tingle, or shiver.
She fidgets with her loose clothing, trying to adjust the fit.
She notices something is wrong, but either can't put her finger on it or is in denial.
Her clothes slip again. Maybe threatening (or going ahead with!) a nip slip.
Her pants/skirt/whatever slides off her hips.
Her panties hang on, shifting down to show a peek of her ass, and then they hit the floor too.
She realizes exactly what's happening. Panics.
Her shirt gets bigger, her bra sliding off her breasts underneath it.
She struggles desperately to keep her huge top on, but it's a losing battle.
She freaks out more watching everything grow around her.
She talks to herself: This is impossible! Oh shit, I'm still shrinking! My clothes are falling off of me! How small am I gonna get? Etc etc etc
The top and bra become unmanageable, and she's left defeated and nude, knee-deep in her oversized clothing.
She covers herself with her hands, embarrassment joining her panic.
When she gets to around half her size, maybe a bit smaller, she starts to feel something else: arousal. She doesn't really want it, can't control it, knows she should stay focused on figuring out her situation...but the turn-on is part of what's happening to her, and it's only getting stronger as she gets smaller.
She continues to try to control herself, slowly losing the battle as she gets tinier and hornier.
She finally collapses into self-pleasuring ecstasy, writhing around in her gigantic outfit.
She knows she's still shrinking, but now she's too horny to care.
She orgasms right about the time she stops shrinking.
Exhausted, maybe starting to feel her panic or embarrassment returning, she crawls out of her outfit, stupefied at what's become of her.

A sequence that goes like this would hit so many notes for me that if there's ever a live-action video that incorporates them all with competent effects and an half-decent actress I'll be walking funny for hours afterwards. You may notice that Office Politics ticks many of those boxes, in fact, though not quite all of them. And anyone who's ready my stories may detect a familiar pattern. Lol

Red Parrot has done the denial thing pretty well in his two part Witch's Purse clips. Both shrinkees think their clothes are getting bigger, and when Lori, the witch, tries to explain the situation, they dismiss it, saying "people don't shrink."

The first shrinkee even sends a video message from the titular purse, saying she's been shrunk, and warning the soon to be second victim that she'll be shrunk next, and she still denies it until she's about half the size she used to be

I really like when the shrinkee knows their fate. Office Politics is the best example.

Long before that, there was a shrinking themed episode of the Superman TV series Lois and Clark. At the end, the female antagonist gets a massive dose of her own medicine. She developed a shrink potion that she used to shrink three people. At the end, a whole bottle of the potion falls of her, and she seemingly shrinks away to nothing. The effect is awful, but the actress really sells it with a look of panic on her face as the potion hits her, and a scream as she starts to shrink away to her doom.

The Shrinking Dreams clips Too Little Too Late and Velvets the Pet Collector have this. In each one, the shrinker becomes the shrinkee.

I really like the bit in Too Little Too Late, when the brunette's husband is about to shrink her, when she cries, "No!! Not me!!"

The sneezing ended up being a good metaphor for what I think is many people's favorite moment: "realizing it's about to happen; not wanting it to happen; being unable to stop it." That describes a real sneeze that we're all familiar with so it's very relatable.

It happened to work well for video, but I think in literature there are other shrinking methods that work even better since they can be described in more detail:

- Orgasms coupled with being-too-horny-to-stop (as in "Always Follow the Directions" from the Minimizer's site)

- Cold, emotionaless computers executing pre-set code (as in my video "The Photographer" or that often-seen book "Short Time")

- Evil characters who can not be reasoned with (too many to count, but Johannes Lowe's "Sentenced and Shrunk" always comes to mind for me)


I think that "loss of control" is the base level of our fetish here and all of these are just different ways of dressing that up. The differences are where the fun lies. I'm always excited to come across one I've never seen before!

If I ever win the powerball, Im going to finance a film version of Always Follow the Directions. What a great story. Features the horny shrink, plenty of shrinking out of clothes, and my favorite, the tables are turned shrink.

Another one I really like is Laundry Day by Scidram. Though, in that one, the detergent causes an orgasm, which causes the shrinking.

Well, the detergent caused the orgasmic effect, but it was the addition of heat after the detergent that caused the shrinking.

I think for a while there, folks like myself, Min and others actually were writing stories with that kind of shrinking as the central catch. Girl shrinks, the sensation makes her orgasm. That was it in a nutshell.

I freely admit, it was fun, it was sexy...and folks ate it up! I mean...Always Read The Directions? A definite centerpiece of the story. LOL

My favourite is a woman who is a giantess being shrunk to SW standards. Had an idea for a 600 foot giantess going on a rampage but is stopped when she is exposed to a single drop of the world's most powerful shrinking serum. It causes her to shrink until she disappears.

There was a story a few years back on Writing.com where a giantess shrinks to nothing.

If I recall, whatever made her grow made her body unstable. Our of nowhere, there was a sound similar to air being let out of a balloon. Then, she rapidly started to shrink. She shrink well past her normal height. If I recall, somebody picked her up when she was doll size, and she scream / squeaked as she shrank away to nothing in the person's hand.

I havent been on writing.com in ages, but they used to have some interesting SW stuff.

There are a series of What Goes Down Must Come Up clips on Growth Dreams that include woman getting shrunk to a few inches tall, then growing to giant size. But, I dont think Ive seen any the other way around.
