Welcome back

Isn't this fun? We're back again. Tell your friends. Tell your family. Tell your neighbor who washes his 1995 Buick Century every Saturday in his driveway.

NGL, I genuinely thought it might be down for the count this time. Nice to see it isn't.

Anyone know what the fuck happened?

Goblins, I'd wager. Or maybe zombies?

Holy shit, that was the longest downtime we've ever had. It thought it was really over this time.

No idea what happened. Don't know of any good places to go if this place does shut down.

Likely a missed payment. The server is also really fucking ancient and is still using code from the original 2 servers before it. This baby is probably older than the 2000s based on functioning code alone. Whatever server that maintains it is probably just as old and starting to fail or it keeps getting moved around. It doesn't help that it's Powered by vBulletin® Version 3.8.7

vBulletin is ancient and practically speaking dead. Straight up end of life software.

If you want The Process to continue someone will need to make a new website on something more stable.

How would us users help in supporting that?
I'm down for a piggybacking upgrade effort.

I am not the one to ask, nor would I do it if I could. I do not support some threads here and if given my way, the AR/AP thread would not exist on the next incarnation. I find it's concept too close to CP for comfort. If one does remake the process, my suggestion is to not allow that thread to exist in the next version. All else should be fine.

Well, that went in an unexpected direction lol.
I'm of the opinion that, so long as noone real was harmed or depicted, its an ok thing baring full on intercourse with young ones.
It's important to draw divides between things like this and real life.

Should all violence in media be banned for its depiction of murder and aggression?
Should the TF section be removed for the mutilation of the human form when those tfs are against their will?
Should evil masterminds be removed from overarching plots to avoid inspiring the creation of evil ideas amongst real people?
Should shows like Breaking Bad and Dexter be banned for drugs and insidious, petty behavior?

It's up to us as adults (hopefully) to know the difference between fantasy and reality. And also important to identify that distinction as such; fantasy, is just that.

Its a slippery slope to tread.

I have a rule when it comes to AR/AP. All characters can not cross the age of 18. Nor can they be younger than 18. That way you can avoid all that other stuff.

I genuinely wasn't expecting it to come back, this time! I just so happened to follow a link that brought me here, and... Thank God it did!

I checked in every few days, up to a week at a time, to see if it came back up. Nice to see it did...but it only means that it will eventually happen again.

I think that I could reasonably be considered one of the foremost experts in the world on AR/AP on the Internet because I built and run the AR archive - ararchive.com. I think saixhinata has the right take on this. In the over 25 years the AR archive has been on the internet there have been zero inquiries to me from law enforcement and it has been hosted on mainstream hosting services with no issues. A relevant side note: I hosted the Process on my server with the AR archive for a number of years. I can count on one hand the number of times when anything had to be removed due to inappropriate content. It is easy to worry that it is close to CP if you don't think too closely about it (and it has been discussed at the AR archive in the past) but the fact of the matter is that in mainstream culture there is an interest in AR/AP as evidenced by the large number of AR/AP episodes of movies, tv shows, cartoons and anime. CP is CP - it is not AR/AP any more than vore is a concept "too close for comfort" to actual cannibalism or TG horny bimbofication is too close to rape. I think your suggestion is too close for comfort to heavy-handed censorship and it is very concerning when brought up on a site that is an open and supportive community. If you don't like AR/AP, don't read the thread, but think about how you would feel if someone suggested that Shrinking thread should be removed because they were uncomfortable. I assume that is your main interest based on your avatar and user name. Sites like this can have civil wars because of attacking the interests that aren't your thing or you can "purify" the site out of existence because of "problems" with every fetish.

I just don't think underage people or characters should be part of a "fetish" or "Kink" I am of the opinion that consenting adults do what consenting adults want. Picturing underage characters in a fetish is suspect, even if the characters "Were originally X age" or "Actually she's thousands of years old"

And we ARE talking specifically about fetishes. Cartoons having an episode where the team are kids again isn't typically seen as a fetish. But this IS a forum specifically discussing fetishes. I don't think underage characters should be included in the discussion of fetishes.

Do you even read/view any AR/AP content? It doesn't sound like it because you paint with a very broad and inaccurate brush. You keep equating AR/AP with child porn even if you don't state it. In AR/AP, characters under the age of consent are not sexualized. They are either the "before" of an age progression (sexless child into sexy adult), the "after" of a comeuppance, an adult humiliated/embarassed in a loss of status/power (a dynamic that is mirrored in a lot of shrinking content), or what the character wished/desired to be (return to childhood or infancy). AR/AP is never about perceiving underage children as sexual objects. In many shrinking fantasies the shrinking leads to a loss of power/control which is part of the thrill and then the characters interact sexually. In AR/AP, the loss of power/control is often part of the thrill but there is no sexual interaction afterwards.

By your standard (emphasis on consenting adults), a whole lot of shrinking and frankly any type of transformation content should be excluded or to use the more accurate word - censored - because it is non-consensual and sexual. I don't believe in that, but you appear to. I invite you to go and read the 4,500 stories at the AR archive and let me know when you find actual sexual activity between an adult and a child below the age of consent.

I'm not in this discussion to convince you to get into AR/AP. I aim to dissuade you, and others reading this, against advocating for the censorship of any fetish based on an inaccurate characterization of what that fetish actually is.

I don't like underage characters being depicted in fetishes. 18+ only

You're entitled to your own tastes, but on a traditional forum like this one of all places the rule "don't like, don't look" should be golden. All people here are adults consciously engaging in fictional kink, and you don't get to dictate their experience or make backhanded comments on their moral character.
You want to be a cop, you can go do it on Twitter. Maybe get a few more artists suspended, make the world a slightly worse place.

I don't think underage characters should be used in sexual fetishes. Having the hots for a character who is very obviously seen as underage is not a kink.

Because when we draw or look at art of say Nezuko or Anya growing into fully fledged mature looking adults... that's somehow still cheese pizza. Got it. Ok Karen, go bitch to the manager instead of us.

Already done. The new one is a Discord:

I've mostly given up posting here due to the lack of traffic, and awkward software.

Used to run my own site, they go down and you have to go into the site http files and fix stuff or bug your hosters. It happens.

Re: Welcome back

Thank goodness. I thought this site was gone for good. And with other sites like DeviantArt and Patreon getting more restrictive on fetish content, I had imagined some busybody or moral panic group was making a systematic effort to bump such things off the internet entirely. Hopefully I was just being paranoid. After this scare, I might have to join that discord after all.
