Vertical Limit 2: Giantess Royale
Contestants: 1) SinisterTwin ( Vixen ) 2) Dartnet 3) Indigo 4) Lorekeep 5) Melkorios If you're one of the contestants please post a picture of the character you'd like to use for the competition. Or just a general description will suffice. Hair color and style, eye color, build, clothing, name (if different than username), etc. Also how your character would react to growing and growing. It's not starting just yet, still got some things to prepare, just want to get the roster ready. |

The Goal
The first player to reach the height of 50' AND reach the "Exit" hex will be allowed to live. For the rest, their devices explode taking their heads with them. Movement You can move across the island 1 hex at a time at first, but the taller you get, the more hexes you can move across. there are 6 sizes. 00' to 09'11" GTS rank 1, move 1 hex. 10' to 19'11" GTS rank 2, move 2 hexes. 20' to 29'11" GTS rank 3, move 3 hexes. 30' to 39'11" GTS rank 4, move 4 hexes. 40' to 49'11" GTS rank 5, move 5 hexes. 50' and above GTS rank 6, move 6 hexes. Kicking Also, if you are next to a player and are higher ranked than that player, you can KICK them into a different hex, or even outside into the water. The # of hexes they are moved is based in the difference of rank. A Rank 2 kicking a Rank 1 is only a 1-size difference, so they move 1 hex. A Rank 4 kicking a Rank 1 would kick them 3 hexes over. This can be handy by kicking them into areas which are already visited, and no longer give any benefits. You can only kick 1 player per game-day. Weapons I've also attached a JPEG of how weapons and kicks work within the hex system. Radius based weapons have a diminishing effect, losing power the farther out someone is from the center. A word on weapons and items: You can only carry ONE at a time! (unless you get a backpack, then you can carry two). If you land on a hex with a new weapon or item, it's your choice to swap it out or keep your old one. If you swap, I will randomly place the old item somewhere on the map. When you land on a hex which has a weapon, you can use whatever weapon(s) you're carrying, and whatever weapon the hex has provided. Using a weapon does not take up a turn. (unless noted). But if you leave that hex, you must leave one weapon behind (unless you have a backpack). When you choose to use a weapon on someone or kick them, I go by their locations on the map at that time. So if I see a post saying "I shoot soandso" and the next post says "I move out of the way to hex XXX". That move to the hex may not happen, depending on the kick or the weapons specific ability. |

It's not quite as cleaned up as I'd like, but what the heck. ;) Anywho, my character name is the same as my username, Indigo, and her reaction to growth would likely initially be surprise, followed by excitement and being somewhat drunk with power as she continued to grow. Preferred starting clothing would be what I'm wearing in the two reference pics. :p Heheh.. I'm looking forward to this. :D |

Oh, you know it'd she'd be happy and horny. Even if she shrank. Probably would play with her shoes if she got shorter. However, she'd probably have a weakness in that if she ever got too big for her clothes, she'd either want to start comparing herself against the other women (or, if someone is small enough ... play with them), or get a new set of clothes to be stylish with. |

Ok let's start this thang!
Basically, the 5 of you have been drugged and entered into the game known as Giantess Royale. You awake to find yourselves offshore of this strange island, and odd devices strapped to your necks. A voice comes from the device explaining that on this island there are many objects, fruits and devices which will increase your height. The first player to reach the height of 50' AND reach the "Exit" hex will be allowed to live. For the rest, their devices explode taking their heads with them. For round one you are paddling to shore, you can only pick one of the green hexes shown in the attached map. ALSO - pick a number from 1 to 5 to be assigned a unique item. (repeats acceptable, so if 2 ppl choose the same number, you both get the same item) Because of the possibility of duplicates, if you'd like to PM me your choice, that's fine. These items, along with other items scattered across the map will be explained to you in PMs as not to tip off your competition. Still say Vix should get some kinda bonus for clawing her way to the top last round, like a one-time status-swap or something, but hey, it's your game. |
I had considered it, but.. it just didnt seem fair. I dunno, maybe next game the winner from this one will get a bonus.

Lorekeep chose hex #71. Map positions need to be communicated through the thread so people can see where others are (to attack and defend and not pick the same hex) Only the weapon choice should be done through PM. Vixen, while on the beach you find a odd looking conch shell, you decide to blow into it. As you do, the sound vibrations trigger a change in your body and you grow to 6'7". As Dartnet crosses the beach she steps on a syringe *ouch* but finds herself growing to 7'2". Lorekeep catches a fish, cooks and eats it. Afterwards her clothes start to feel tight and start stretching as she grows to 7'5". |
Very well then, let's start at hex 89 instead. :p

After a long day you find a small fishing shack. Inside is a bottle of what you think is beer. It isn't, it's horrible, but you still feel invigorated as your height jumps up to 7'2".

On her way onto the beach Melkorios swims through some strange glowing water, when she emerges onto the beach she finds to her surprise that she's grown to 6'4".
Ok, art's a lil backed up, but it'll be done tonight. Til then may as well get started with day 2. Current rankings: Lorekeep: 7'5" Dartnet and Indigo: 7'2" Vixen: 6'7" Melkorios: 6'4" As is, none of you can move more than 1 hex. |

Lorekeep travels northwest along a river and picks a few berries on her way, eating them causes her to grow to 9'3"
Melkorios heads Southwest into a field of giant flowers, their pollen floats on the air around her. By the time she leaves the field the flowers dont seem as giant anymore because she has grown to 8'1" Darnet heads SouthEast to the base of a mountain range where she finds a strange, yet tasty looking mushroom. She brushes a caterpillar away from it and takes a bite. She shoots up to 10'9"! She's now tall enough to kick you lil folks around and to move 2 hexes on the map. Here's an updated map. Want to clear up something about finding weapons. When you land on a hex which has a weapon, you can use whatever weapon(s) you're carrying, and whatever weapon the hex has provided. Using a weapon does not take up a turn. (unless noted). But if you leave that hex, you must leave one weapon behind (unless you have a backpack). PM me your decision on what to leave behind, and I'll redistribute that weapon onto a un-discovered hex. When you choose to use a weapon on someone or kick them, I go by their locations on the map at that time. Indigo heads Northeast along the beach, it's a sunny day so she applies the last of some suntan lotion she has found. It interacts with the suns rays to increase her height to 8'3".
Vixen heads due east near the bottom of a mountain range, eating some berries she finds on the trees. They trigger a change in her body, causing her to grow to 7'3" Wow, day 2 went FAST. but lets not start day 3 til I get the art done. Jeez, my wrist's gonna be sore tonight. .. from DRAWING. sicko. =P |

Ahem. Good evening folks. My name is Amber and I will be your journal writer for Vertical Limit 2. I'm here to write some good reports of what goes on this island the five girls are currently trapped on. Of course I don't have one of those devices stuck around my neck heh heh. Boy aren't I glad that I wasn't included in this contest. Ahem, anyway I guess everything has been explained so we all get how to play and such. I wonder though. Why this island? Do you have any comments on why you picked an island for this Vertical Limit Kricket? |
Why an island.. ok long explanation.
During the last contest I got a bit tired of the 1-50 potion route, and started thinking about setting up a grid, similar to a game of battleship. Setup that way, I could cluster good abilities together. Problem was, if one player hit a cluster, the rest of the players would swoop down like hawks and it didnt seem very sporting. So then I figured I ought to set it up so that players could only move a bit at a time, the taller ones being rewarded by being able to move farther. A square grid isnt really setup to attack with weapons and other fun stuff, so I switched to hexes. I tried coming up with some sort of story for this thing, and why these players would try to compete to reach 50'. I was reminded of one of my favorite movies, Battle Royale. It's about a bunch of japanese kids getting put on an island and having to battle it out til only 1 remained. So that's what this is all patterned after! The clustering isnt in the map (well except for one area), but everywhere else it's pretty random. |
Looks like it's going well. I like how you slowly uncover the map as you go. Can't wait to see the first sketches tonight! ^_^

Bleh, I give. I can't do it, I can't draw 5 characters in comic-format every round. I don't even want to do 5 characters a round like I did in VL 1.
It's killing me, Im tired, and this is becoming a chore, and I dont want it to be one. Soo, the game will continue, but I may only draw 1 or 2 characters per round. Apologies, but I'm going to spend more time on them, they'll look better, and I'll actually ink them. And let's open this up, if anyone else wants to join in and sketch some of our players, feel free. It's 2:30 am, I just went through a bunch of sketches, and after reviewing them, most turned out junk, I dont want that to continue. Anyh00, attaching some of what I drew. Part of Vixen's panels (the bit where she's blowing thru the shell is gone, it was just bad) Dart's needle encounter, and Lore's tastyfish. Let's start Day 3. Suggestion, Kricket why don't you a breather and shoot to release the picts after the contest? Your doing a great job and comic book style artwork can be very hard at times. If you need some one to help run the next rounds and I don't win I volunteer to do some to the non-art grunt work. So relax take you time. We can wait. And thanks this is fun. |
Cool, thanks for posting the sketches at least. I can understand wanting to keep it focused to one or two quality shots instead of a mega-swampload of comics to try and do in one night. But still I think your tastyfish sketchiness is great. The two panels make for just the right amount of build up and the final shot is beautiful with the clothes- especially how the tanktop is lifted and stretched. Keep up the good work! ^_^

And don't worry about the art, take your time and do however many of us you want to do, or like Dartnet said, take a break and do some pics at the end. |

Lorekeep stumbles upon a fallen, glowing meteor. Intrigued, she touches it. The glow fades from the rock but then appears on Lore. Lore's belt and clothes give way some more as she grows to 12'. Lore can now move 2 hexes at a time and kick the runts.
Vixen scales a mountaintop to find what looks like a greek city, as if this were Mt. Olympus itself! She finds some strange nectar and drinks some of it, immediately she feels filled with power as she grows to 9'1". After running a bit, Dartnet takes a nap and has the weirdest dream. She dreams that she was kidnapped by aliens and subjected to all sorts of weird and horrid experiments. Stranger still is that her clothes are shredded as she has grown to 14'. Indigo finds a cool looking necklace and puts it on, it's magic! Indigo grows to 9'1" |
Are you planning to do another one of these Kricket? If so, could I be in it?

Some of you might have noticed that no one has been shrunk yet! That's because you can't get shrunk by choosing a "bad hex". You can only get shrunk by other players using weapons, and weapons are found in the unique locations I PM you about when you get near them. So don't be afraid to check them out, it's the opposite, you should want to find them.
