Mahou Tsukai Precure (Magical Girls AP TF)
 

Mahou Tsukai Precure, the brand new series from the Precure franchise this

season, apparently features AP transformations for the main heroines. It's

the first among all the Precure series so far to have AP TF for the main

characters. (Doki Doki! Precure series featured an AP TF for the character

Madoka Aguri/Cure Ace, but she was somewhat more of an extra and not a

main character). The effects of the AP however is quite hard to tell as there

aren't many visible physical changes except the hair, height, and facial

expression. The main heroines are both 13 years old, and judging from the

looks of their transformed selves, the transformations seem to age them into

somewhere within 15~18. The process is very vague of course. The

characters generally become replaced with the afterimage of their older alter

egos. Though, there seems to be at least a bit of animated process for the

leg/hip expansion from what I can see.


Furthermore, the opening foreshadows a pink-haired fairy-like mascot

character going through a multi-stage AP, whom would likely join the main

heroines in the episodes near future.

Maybe the process will become more visible after a couple of episodes down the road.

No no. Long-term anime series like Precure that are aimed toward kids can improve many things throughout the episodes. Brave Beats is a good example for this, as they have been editing their opening and transformations.

I actually hope for the opposite. Too many season with big groups and characters start feeling one note. I prefer they keep the team to two.

Plus they are doing outfit changes again. More girls just means they'll phase out the early outfits too soon.
