Burton also said before he didn't like Disney's version of the tale and wanted to keep it more in spirit with the original books.

It's hard to believe now that Alice in Wonderland was Disney's biggest animated flop until The Black Cauldron (and following that, Treasure Planet), but it was. It was the very animated work that got me into SW/GTS.

Qzar9999,

And I agree with your statement on Jefferson Airplane's "White Rabbit" song giving Alice in Wonderland a drug-rap. :) [Even though that wasn't my era,] I've heard it was a time of frequent drug use and Woodstock concerts, lol, who could blame them for how they saw things.

Heh, it wasn't my era, either. I blame the Lost Odyssey commercials for introducing me to that song...

Based on the script I know I'm excited to go see this movie. Multiple size-changing scenes FTW.

Tim Burton wants to make a LITERARY adaptation.

He doesn't know or care about any videogame.

Re: Alice In Wonderland

Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland isn't the game Alice done as a movie, that movie was never made actually. If it was you would see a Slasher Alice. Its like a sequel to AiW and Thru the looking Glass (AiW 2).

Well, a search of the photographer's name didn't bring up any threads related to these images so I'll just stick them here.

Hallopino at DA has done a couple of very nifty Alice photoshoots (mostly props I think) demonstrating either end of the size continuum - considered posting the SW one a while back, but now that he made a GTS one I'll link them all - no process as such in the photos, but Alice nonetheless.

This isn't much, but here's something that was just posted on an Alice in Wonderland movie fansite. If you want to keep up with as much Alice in Wonderland movie-related news as possible, I have three pretty good websites to recommend (even though I doubt they'll have any updates for the next couple of weeks).

http://www.aliceinwonderlandmovie.org

http://www.timburtoncollective.com/l...onderland.html

http://mia-wasikowska.net

The schedule for Disney's D23 Expo says that new footage of Alice in Wonderland (among other upcoming Disney films) will be shown on September 11th at 11:00 AM. I'm sure we can probably expect that same footage to hit the internet shortly after that.

I'm not sure yet, but it looks like Tim Burton may have only shown the same old Alice in Wonderland teaser trailer at D23. Bummer. Here's the story I found on that: http://www.comingsoon.net/news/d23ex...#commentLstTop

On a more positive note, I found out that SyFy (I still dislike that new spelling) is bringing out their own take on Alice in Wonderland called "Alice" in December. From the short trailer I found, it doesn't look like it's going to have any size change. But maybe I'll be wrong about that.

Not off hand but it makes me think of an old pinup artist like Gil Elvgren.

I'm going to think about it some more but I'm throwing out this comment to see if it prompts any one else's memory.

new info ... Surprise the heck out of me. It really reminded me of an older pin-up artists work. Perhaps the combination of the composition of the piece and the excessive .jpg compression is what led me there but some creative googling led me here.

http://www.sockdreams.com/weblog/200...socks-garters/

A modern work by a photographer of a real woman in costume. Who knew women would still doll themselves up like that even for entertainment's sake. Unfortunately, this doesn't lead to a larger, better quality version of the picture unless, perhaps, Lee & Annaliese Moyer might want to sell a copy.

Just giving you all a heads-up. If you have a Facebook account, join a group called The Disloyal Subjects of the Mad Hatter. There's supposed to be some kind of new content from Alice in Wonderland made available exclusively to members of that group tomorrow. Surely, surely it will be a new trailer at this point. If it's not, I think there are going to be quite a few disappointed fans.

LAME. The person running the Mad Hatter Facebook page is holding the new content hostage until fans give his posts thousands of "likes". He's released the first piece of content which is nothing but a blend of images we've already seen into a movie poster. He won't release the second piece of content until he gets 7,500 "likes" on one of his posts. And who knows how many "likes" he'll require to release the third and final piece of content.

I really hope these other two pieces of content aren't movie posters. Please don't tell me they would stir up all this hype for three movie posters.

Maybe it's not even a sanctioned thing..just somebody who wants attention.

Having just been to a local theater myself, I recognize the poster found in a small preview booklet they were giving away. Though I might very well be assuming wrongly, I do believe the other two pieces are in fact posters that, together with the first, make an interesting mural but otherwise no GTS content to be found.

All I'll say is, it wouldn't surprise me. LoL. Better be sanctioned or some people will be p/o. We, female growth, fans are a wee bit impatient wouldn't you say? Sorry producers, I'd have to say I'm one of the impatient ones for one BiG reason:P

Sour Oblivion 11-11-2009 06:31 AM

Re: Alice In Wonderland

The 7,500 point has been reached, and a new Alice poster was the reward.

There's still one more reward left, and the person running the Facebook page said something very interesting: "What fabulous subjects you are, following me into the land of wonder. I dare not disappoint. Why is she always too small or too tall? Here's a bit more to whet your appetite, but I need to keep you humble. 9,000 Likes and your cup shall be made full! Do not disappoint - there's too much to lose!"

Saying "there's too much to lose" makes me think that he has something far better in store than just a poster, like a new trailer. But maybe that's just wishful thinking on my part. But in case it's not just wishful thinking, head on over to "The Disloyal Subjects of the Mad Hatter" page if you have a Facebook account and click on "like" for the latest post.

The guy running the Facebook page even says in his latest post that the reason he didn't reveal more is that the goal of 9,000 "Likes" wasn't reached, although he didn't even give his followers a full week to reach it. I do appreciate how in doing this 3-part game he indulged a lot in the character of the Mad Hatter. Believe me being 28 I find myself a bit more laid back, more respectful, and not just outright critical. But Sour Oblivion has a point: eventually a longer more theatrical trailer will be released from the source so its only a matter of time. Sooner than later hopefully, lol, and with some footage of the growth scenes I hope are in the movie.

Yep, and we only see two brief shots of "Big Alice" as her giant form is called in the screenplay: sitting next to the Red Queen at the start of the trailer and then brandishing a sword behind the Mad Hatter toward the end of the trailer. This new trailer is a treasure trove for SW fans, though. Quite a few nice shots of shrunken Alice throughout.

I have a feeling the actual movie is going to be phenomenal for mini-GTS lovers, though.

Just saw the new trailer and I think we are up for some hell of a ride in that movie. I, for one, can?t wait to see it.
Anyway, I have Dynamites "The Complete Alice in Wonderland #1" and just finished scanning the relevant pages. I cannpot tell you how happy I am about this comic, Erica Awanos version of Alice is one of the cutest, most adorable versions of Alice I?ve ever seen. I own quite a few AIW books and comics, but rarely a version entertained me as much as this one. The artwork is just breathtaking, while the drawings are a very sophisticated manga style the coloration reminds me in the AIW illustrations of Arthur Rackham. Without much more to say, here are the sizechange and giantess scenes.
Oh yeah, and please go and buy the comic, its well worth the money.
