Thanks for the encouragement guys. Just don't expect anything even remotely fast. I'm not exaggerating when I say that I'm more likely to move SLOWER than tectonics as my work with AE goes on and off. And I'll not be sticking to just BE as I like belly too.

Have you looked at Blender for doing flat images like this? Or would that be too complex to pull off? Cause you can essentially make a poseable doll cutout using bone connectors, and a rescaleable section using Shape Keys and Keyframes for animation. Essentially you can then resize and tweak the inflation without having to make a new transition every time. Oh and even though it's a 3D editor, you go to Orthographic mode, it'll go flat.

It also has an audio-editor built into it, so you don't even have to change programs to add little sound bits.
