If you haven't checked it out (which I can't blame you), Neo Yokio the weird Jaden Smith tweets inspired anime does a Ranma 1/2 homage complete with one guy being turned into a woman and another being turned into a panda. Like Ranma it's pretty much instantaneous and the animation on the show is low quality, but I'm posting as a heads up.

I'm surprise they creators knew Ranma 1/2 was a thing. From everything I've heard and what little I've seen it's just "Jaden Smith but animated".

The animation is low quality and the voice acting is awful but considering it was initially made for the block that used to have Axe Cop it makes sense. I wouldn't go so far as to say the creator's don't like anime - but I think the budget it was working under hampered it a good deal.
