I've seen people bitching about blah blah SJW pandering and whatnot with that already. Hasn't he been hoping to regenerate into a woman for some time now though, IIRC? I stopped watching around when Capaldi took the helm.

Still has to wait for that red hair he always whines about not having each regeneration, though.

I seem to remember that the Master also regenerated as a woman.

It's a shame you stopped watching, since Capaldi gave some great performances. Though I understand stopping regardless.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to this, especially since this Doctor won't be written by Moffat!

Knew it would happen eventually. Now I have a few seasons to catch up on.

Meh. If the writing still sucks shit...and Chibbers doesn't exactly write great Doctor WHO... won't matter who the actor is.

I'm looking forward to the upcoming season also a lady Doctor at the helm is welcome, not sure about the new showrunner or the upcoming choice for companion, but I'm willing to give it a shot. Shame I missed this past season, I heard great things about it.

They're screwed. Chris Chibnall has nowhere near the skill to pull this off. They are going to drop her into the invasion of the week format as if nothing had happened and she'll be so perfect it will be insufferable.

Probably doesn't help that BBC does have an obsession with diversity currently. And any change such as this is seen as pandering. That being said, this is a character they recast all the time, so it doesn't bother me at all. It all depends on the writing at the end of the day. And no one should insult the more skeptical fans either. Drives me nuts hearing people called a sexist or mysgoninst and that ruined Thor and Ghostbusters already.

Crazy thought: Why don't we try to be naive fools instead of cynical grumps for a change and give the guy a chance before we bite his head off? Whaddaya say, Sai?
