Yeah, it was. Thanks.

I didn't remember there was a close-up of her face. Sweet.

Thanks for the link! I was looking for references as soon as I saw blood_rain's post. Any particular context to this? Couldn't a dedicated wiki.

Actually, it's more like villains are awakening a dangerous alien life form to use as a bioweapon...then promptly lose control of it. Said alien life form are somewhat akin to headcrabs and facehuggers.

I kinda wish there was some sort of infinite hp cheat or mod so that you could end up going through the rest of the game as one of them :D the cutscenes would certainly be interesting.

Ever watched a television series that you had zero interest in before, but then a subplot comes along which keeps you hopelessly addicted? Juliette's transformation into a Hexenbiest in GRIMM is doing that to me right now.

FUCK, I wish I was writing for the show...I keep envisioning all sorts of possible scenes for the future of Juliette's character. The worst part is, they'll probably be a lot better than what I'll ultimately get in season 5. Arrgghhh, the futility of fanfiction!!

This visual novel called Exs-Tia (or Ex-S Tia?) is coming out in a couple of months. The artist is Inoino (one of the guys who does the Sailor Moon Dark Planet doujins). The preview CGs don't really look like much at the moment. It's a pretty generic magical girl H-game where all the combat occurs in a rock, paper, scissors simulator. If you lose a fight, you get a standard girl vs. tentacles scene. There's also a rival magical girl on the aliens' side, but it looks like she's evil to begin with and wasn't converted.

But there's a pre-order poster that seems to tease one of the game's endings. You be the judge.

well.

<Age of Ultron spoilers.>

It's sadly brief, but Ultron uses Loki's sceptre from the first movie to brainwash Dr. Helen Cho into his willing lackey.

Sadly that's what most hypnosis/corruption draws down to ultimately. Either that, or recolored skin with photoshop. Or tinkered outfit.

I can understand this feeling, it's almost painful. Especially when the fandom of that series as a whole doesn't care for a particular character or subplot that while minor, is instrumental to what draws you to the show.

Well, I guess it's pointless to debate about it any more. The character has become a flat-out villain now, which is appropriate for this thread. It's just too bad the way the writers chose to depict her particular conversion was shallow and needlessly depressing.

Personally I was happy to see Loki's sceptre show up again, even if it was for the final time. I love its style of brainwashing (same personality but they would die for the villain).

Shadow Weaver's origin from SHE-RA is probably my favorite "E.C." story to date. It's full of tragedy, pathos, and a flawed, easily relatable protagonist who's unknowingly transformed into a villainess. Best of all, it allows the possibility of Light Spinner being redeemed one day.

(It's kind of ironic that a comic book based off a children's cartoon provides better background and motivation for a character's downfall into evil than most adult-centered programs and novels these days.)
