Recent Scooby Doo movies have been staying away from the "Ghosts are Real" plot and returning to the classic "Old Man Withers in a Mask" routine. "Curse of the 13th Ghost" is an example of the series retconning what were once real ghosts as fake. I have a bad feeling that this film will try to do the same.
Though I will be impressed if it is not.

No it didn't retcon the ghosts being fake. All it was was Vincent Van Ghouls former partner using the 13th ghost as a way to get revenge. The ghosts were always real it's just they didn't encounter the actual 13th ghost
