A Different kind of Arabian Night: New Aladdin TG

Hi there,

As a great, great many here will appreciate the TG genre, as can be said, is eclectic and vast in how it can manifest, both before and after media generates some aspect in which gender or sexuality play a part. For some particular time - as I have absently noted - the story of Aladdin (principally the Disney iteration of the fable) has courted a good deal of artistic interest: how the sum of some gender bending could, sometimes fancifully, change the story. Some of the scenarios more intricate than others, some here may be more familiar with the direct ideas, as found below.

Recently, I was going here and there on the net when I stumbled upon a certain twitter feed of a Japanese artist https://twitter.com/kutabie who has taken a liking to many things baring out the classical Arabian aesthetic and style in story telling.

His page a mix of anime and pop culture (with some strong peppering of TG and gender variant material) I happened upon an intriguing cache of works surrounding the idea of gender flipping the 1992 Aladdin, the character, and a few of the other characters too. The inspiration for this seemed to be - after translation - various ruminations on what the story may have been like if some gender bending had occurred, to whom and to what ultimate effect. The feed on Twisave can be found here (page 11 +) http://twisave.com/kutabie/2015/10/p:11 .

Accordingly, please consider below for some intriguing art relative to a magically morphed Aladdin and even a female Jafar too...

Two works of a female Jafar - called Farja - in both human and other forms...

And, to conclude, a work with female Aladdin and Princess Jasmine being... close.

A curious, compelling and quite vivid reworking of the idea, I can say :).

Thanks,

Alchemical Night.

Why do you talk like that? You remind me of Mr. Hutchinson from Fawlty Towers.

I think my biggest issue with these interpretations is that the outfit remains the same (with Aladdin, anyway). I mean, I know it's not exactly a gender-specific outfit, but it's harder to envision a world where Aladdin was already a woman when the only difference seems to be her gender.

He's a very erudite and educated person....And a real cultor! He put a tip of irony in everything he does. ;):D
