I might be wrong but over the years I've got the impression that, on ocassion, some posters think that the Jekyll and Hyde theme is a little tired.

This is why i was a little nervous of posting the link.

Tbh id never heard of discord untill a few days ago. There seems be more than one channel devoted to tg tho...

Less that and more a specific user posts about that specific subject over and over again, with the posts containing little or no content of substance.

Pretty much this.

I remember some talk about a remake of Hammer's "Dr. Jekyll & Sister Hyde" (the version I personally prefer) many moons ago, but nothing ever came of it.

I remember reading about that. There was supposed to be this big Hammer revival, starting with a reboot of Kronos. I always personally preferred the Hammer version, even though the Tim Daly version was technically superior in terms of SFX.

Superior in SFX, but inferior in brains.

I'd love to see what a film featuring a detailed transgender transformation could do armed with a real budget and today's technology. A decent story and a talented filmmaker wouldn't hurt, either.

I found the Hammer version pretty inventive in spite of its low tech methods. I mean, combining the history of Burke & Hare and Jack the Ripper with a Jekyll & Hyde story that addresses the gender change allowing the Lady Hyde to blend among her potential victims. Fascinating. I wished though, in both versions, the desire to stay as the other half was less driven by blood lust (given how in the Hammer version Jekyll was just as guilty if not more so).

Still the last movie listed by the new Hammer pictures was Woman in Black II and that arrived back in 2014, no new movies since.
