"Do you see yourself as more of a heroine now in this movie?

WASIKOWSKA: Yeah. Alice is always saving the day, but it was nice in this. Also, in the last one, I was changing sizes a lot, which meant that I didn’t get to act with the other people very often, and in this one, I was the same size. I know that seems like a very slight technical thing, but it actually meant I got to do a lot of scenes with people pretty much always. That was really nice."

Here the complete interview: http://collider.com/alice-through-th...ska-interview/

That would be understandable since there isn't any size changing really in the original book either.

Just seen this (not the full movie mind you) but in the trailer it appears that alice crawls through a narrow hall of doors. Not sure if there is any growth or shrinking involved but I would like to think so given the length of the full movie. Also not sure if there are any more shrinking or growth scenes contained within the full movie that aren't shown in the trailer but one can hope. Don't have any spare change this week until Friday so can't buy the movie.

A sort-of growth scene at 0:20 for a few seconds but uses dollhouse furniture and a tiny bottle to show she's grown.

Found this on my usual giantess hunt on C4S and decided to buy it on a whim. Mainly talking, close ups, and low angle shots, no effects or anything, but surprisingly well acted and a good clip none the less. Would have been better if she wore white stockings other than socks and said a few more lines from the book or movie, but still can't complain.

Re: Alice In Wonderland

Just thought it worth mentioning that with the recent release of Alice Through the Looking Glass film, a "special edition" of the first film's manga adaptation has been released. It's unfortunately quite limited in the GTS department, at least with the first scene I feel, but there's a bit of surprising alterations from the film that I rather liked.

I never thought I'd see a version of (tiny) Alice actually punch the White Rabbit in the face for luring her down to Wonderland until this manga.

Re: Alice In Wonderland

This is not Alice's Wonderland

Here's a small indie game you might be interested in. It's a puzzle game that has you solving a series of puzzles, getting bigger every time you solve one. You start out so small you're wandering through a maze of carpet fibers, and eventually get big enough to reach the ceiling. It's not long, and the growth is pretty much jump cuts, but it's always nice to see size-changing used as a mechanic like this.

I feel that the 1951 Disney and 1999 Hallmark versions had the best ones.

Re: Alice In Wonderland

For me the best shrinking scene was in the 1999 Hallmark version where she was in the White Rabbit's house. It is one of my all-time favourite GTS to SW scenes ever.

For growth it has to be from the CGI Alice What's The Matter With The Hatter film where she grew in the courthouse.

Pretty much agree.

darkoverlord2008 09-04-2016 11:33 AM

Re: Alice In Wonderland

Disney one of course and Hallmark had great effects. I always had a fondness for the Jetlag version though, just because in a lot of cases I prefer growth spurts to continued growth. So the house scene and the court growth were great in my view. But also agree that the Whats the Matter With the Hatter growth was practically on another level. Shame theres not been any serious new alice films in the past decade.

Allogagan 09-04-2016 02:58 PM

Re: Alice In Wonderland

My personal fav are the 1985 US TV movie(s) live action cause of using a girl almost the right age and the Jetlag one for the growth scenes. The 1999 Hallmark and the Disney are close 2nds.

Soviet Hybrid 09-05-2016 03:05 AM

Re: Alice In Wonderland

The Fiona Fullerton 1972 AiW for me I think is the #1. Apart from the well made sets and good growth scenes, the court room scene was probably my favourite as she grows in two stages quoting the words "I seem to have grown larger..." & "I can't help it I'm growing.." then in the second stint where she grows and you see her in the middle of the court room towering over everything even sat down saying "Goodness this is too much, I must stop all this growing, I'm much too large now, suppose I will just have to stay this size!"

Agreed. I love everything about the growth and shrinking in the 1951 version, but I especially love how Alice's body parts grow one at a time in the 1999 version, notably the pulsating hands after eating the cookie.

The Jetlag one had surprisingly good growth scenes for what essentially was just a cheap Disney knock-off.

Love her being unaware during the courtyard growth, and how she grows in spurts inside the rabbit's house, forced to go from bending over, to squatting, to kneeling, then sitting.

It was the last season (like season 5 or something like that) and I am not sure which ep. in that season it was (I think it was like 6). If you needed that info. I would have to look it up to be sure if you wanted to know exactly which.
