My only casting requirements for the starring role would be:

Relatively well known actress, aged 35-50.

Cbaracter should be married, with at least 1 child, preferably two.

Beyond that, I am happy to leave it to others.

Oh yeah, definifely.

Reece Witherspoon, Courtney Cox, Heather Graham, Sarah Silverman & Gwyneth Paltrow are also names which come to mind.....as they have all aged incredibly well.

Maggie Gyllenhall, Kirsten Dunst or Michelle Williams could work too.

I have a thought what if the remake could also be a sequel to the original. Lily Tomlin could reprise her role as Pat Kramer, but the shrinking woman could be a grown-up Beth Kramer who is one of Pat's kids in the original film.

The only thing with that is that there would have to be an explanation to why Pat isn't gigantic since the original film ended with it implying that she was still growing.

Maybe she return to normal size like Pat was a giantess for 36 years then return to her normal size either by a cure or the effects of the chemicals wore off.
