In the search any king of swap usually brings results (bodyswap, head swap, role swap, life swap, personality swap). I also found this page which has some I can never find through search. http://www.writing.com/main/view_ite...p--Morph-Award

All this aside, of all the interactive story sites (fiction branches, CYOC, BEarchive addventure, etc.) it is Writing.com I have the most issues with. In fact it is the only one I never contributed to. Why?

1. Author Destroyed Options: Authors love destroying options on writing.com. For example many stories with body part swapping have a man getting breasts, but few explore it. All too often if you click on it it leads to a full gender change. The author could have preserved the option by having a scene of a guy growing tits and have two branches for complete TG and man with breasts, but nope, doesn't happen that way. The TG Pills story posted here earlier in the week had another example of this. The author had red (MtF), blue (FtM), and purple (mixed gender) pills. So how about a story using the blue pills? Sorry, that goes directly to a story where the male character gives up as they do nothing and goes to red and purple. One of which in turn leads to endless anthro animal options. The author himself left a FtM option, but it was DESTROYED by contributers.

2. Homophobia: A more specific version of number one. Perhaps 2/3 if not more of the TG stories on writing.com have the rule of "No Gay Stuff". Odd as their are only a few people in all of TG fiction into that (me being one). It's rare enough so it feels like an anti-me rule. But it gets worse. On those WITHOUT the rule, if someone tries a gay scene (such as FtM with her boyfriend, or a life or personality swap giving a guy a girlfriend). The next contributer will DESTROY it. They will make a THE END branch, kill the character, break the rule of the item and have the partner who should be oblivious leave in disgust, etc. It always seems wrong to me how TG fans have no issue with TG stories having underage or incest scenes but will go to ANY length to stop gay scenes. It makes it feel as if the entire community has its priorities wrong.

3. All mutual exchange pairings: When two characters swap anything, parts, bodies, personalities, etc. They will ALWAYS be in a relationship. Even if they were not pre swap. A character will always be paired with their opposite. You never see a man and a girl swap genitals, and he sticks with a different girl and her with a guy.

4. Unavailable due to server traffic: Not being able to read a story is annoying, enough said.

5. Site Limited options: FB and CYOC allow unlimited story branches, BEarchive Addventure lets you choose up to five. But on writing.com options quickly diminish to merely two. If nothing else it makes it easier for stories to get derailed by others.

I edited out everything except the two things I want to address. I don't think the TG on writing.com is TG in the sense that we all like. We look for content because of fetish or some other strong emotional attachment.

The vibe I get from writing.com is the "lol i made a guy a girl" sort of mentality. They aren't appealing to the TG community, they're appealing to what they think is funny. It has nothing to do with TG, and everything to do with what that current writer views as the lulz. If a site like fictionmania were to have a similar set-up I guarantee the quality would be much higher, but even then a poor writer will come in and mess something up.

well there are soom good stories on the site, but the main problem is that some stories are ruined by bad grammar and other things

...only the occasional bad idea or abandoned story thread. As the creator, I personally go over and modify each one to meet the correct terms.

Bet everyone forgot about me, didn't you? :P

One of my main issues with interactive stories is the "Other" or "Something Else" option. Authors add it so people aren't too constrained by the possibilities the author thought up. Maybe they don't want to go to the mall, OR the library, they want to go somewhere else. Fine, I can accept that.

But all too often there's a veritable list of possibilities. You click on Other and find they propose your friend's house, and the only other choice is another "Other". Do that four or five times and it starts to get frustrating - especially when none of the choices are actually written out except the Other selections, which only open more possibilities. At some point, just stop opening choices and DO SOMETHING!
