Holly Gender Bender, Batman?!
 

Hello there,

As some may have gathered from the title, this will be a query related to a certain superhero franchise, though I hope that some may find it curious ;).

Reflecting recently, I was moved to ponder something that has blipped my radar once or twice over the years - that being introducing a gender bending element to the concept of the batman franchise, as regards either Batman himself or Batgirl.

In two ideas i would like to put to a popular poll, I was musing on two conceptions of the superhero which involves a gender switch.

1) The first is a FTM (female to male) take on Batman in which it's not Bruce Wayne, but one Diana Wayne, the heiress of the estate and Wayne inc, who partakes a powerful, gender bending performance enhancer to become - in concert with training and the usual gadgets - the Batman. Such exploits happening after the seemingly whimsical and mellow Diana retires for the night, transforms into and then suits up as the batman, only then to return and revert sometime later than night. Awakening in the morning to her feminine self and sensibilities.

2) The second concept is more conventional, relatively speaking, in that Bruce Wayne uses a gender bending performance enhancer in the support of a speedy, agile and lithesome form to pursue justice; this transformation bringing about some iteration of a late teen. early 20's Batgirl for their nightly exploits. Of course, this leaves Bruce to recover himself in the morning, as can be.

In all, i would be curious of the forum's opinion and which side seems more compelling or remarkable, to the given voters here.

I voted MtF, but now I read it, your FtM scenario has its good points, too.

I'm always more a fan of MtF, but both situations provide ample screentime for both types of transformation. I like the Diana idea. Plenty of chances for stories where the drug wears off at an inopportune time and she ends up having to use her wits instead of muscle to win the night.

I really like the Diana idea far better. Seems to flow much better story wise. And for those just voting the MtF option because icky males, remember, there's still going to be MtF transformations when she reverts back in the morning.

Although him/her taking a performance enhancing drug kind of goes against the spirit of Batman. That's more a Bane thing. Or a Captain America thing.
