Shark TF in Jabberjaw

If anyone is old enough to remember Jabberjaw, it was an old cartoon with the cliche 5 person Scooby Doo rip off about solving some sort of mystery with an animal partner that can sorta talk or talk annoyingly.

Anywho onto the Transformation. I remember seeing one episode of Jabberjaw back in the day and one of the female crew member (called Shelly) was captured to be transformed into a shark like Jabber. I don't recall if there was a transformation sequence during that episode, but it's there if anyone wants to check it out.

The episode in question is entitled The Great Shark Switch: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=VHHB1URQ (The transformation is at almost exactly 11 minutes in, though there's no process, just a flash of light. Also, it's taken from, IIRC, a Brazillian Boomerang channel, and isn't in English)

Hanna Barbara also did a Shazam episode like this, but the villain turned everyone into anthroalligators.

Question: If it's made by the same people, does it constitute as a rip off?

If you consider it a rip-off, HB ripped themselves off with years as those detective shows were staples, and including 2-4 teeangers and their sidekick (excepting Inch High Private Eye and the Amazing Chan Clan)

Hong kong phooey was different though. It was closer to Inspector Cleaseau from the Pink Panther, Mister McGoo, Dudley Dooright, where the hero had no clue what he was doing, and any mystery etc. there was was solved through a combonation of sheer dumb luck with emphasis on dumb.

I meant they slightly stretched the typical formula (not that they didn't have a cute pet somewhere)

Fair enough I was a bit hesitant to put it in, Hong Kong Phooey does border more on hapless superhero that hapless detective, "Spot" was the reason I added it.

That wasn't Hanna Barbara, it was Filmation. The episode in question is entitled Best Seller, but since the title doesn't appear on-screen, you might not find it under that title. (You Tube purports to have Best Seller on there, but it's actually The Incredible Sinking City, misnamed).
