Behoimi BE Animation Test
2 Attachment(s)
Hello. :)
I wanted to try and draw up an animated something but I wasn't sure if Photoshop was up to the test to try it out, so I decided to make a test animation to see how easy it is to use it for animation. The end result... it's terrible. The entire process isn't automated and for some ungodly stupid reason it doesn't let me use union skins in frame by frame animation style so I had to make my own half transparent frame and carry it through the entire time. -_-; The animation looks somewhat good though. :) It's Behoimi from the Pani Poni series. Kinda. Inspiration came from a separate spin off manga series she's in. Blah blah blah. There's two versions of it attached. They both have slightly different changes made to them as well as size. I'd like to hear opinions on which you like more, if it/they should be a bit faster or slower, which size you like more (image size, not her breasts ;)). Basically I need input on how I should go about making animations. :) Also, if you have an idea for a good frame by frame animation drawing program (Windows XP) please drop a name or two for me to try out. (alternate thread title: "Behoimi? More like BEhoime. ;D") |

Aww, it's so cute! I like the second one better, for some reason.

So... what did you use for this? Was it that easy toon thing?

Re: Behoimi BE Animation Test
I used Photoshop 10, or whatever random extra name they decided to call it now. While it's better in a lot of ways to the older version of Photoshop I used to use, it's animation stuffs are all screwed up. It used to be a lot easier to make frame by frame animations with the older version, but I can't use that version any more as it instantly hard locks my computer trying to save/load/look at files. ^^;

Re: Behoimi BE Animation Test
Yea... animation in CS 2 with image ready was a bit better to me than CS3. It was simpler.
I currently have CS 1. |
Re: Behoimi BE Animation Test
..I have to admit I can't tell the difference between the two. ^^;

About the programmes I have no idea, there could be plenty out there on the web, but what the differences are I can't tell. Unless you intend to do something really proffesional you should just stick with the programme you're working with. It's fine for what you do. |

More animation! :D
This one isn't quite done yet (eyes, mouth, bird ect not animated yet) but the next step requires a bit more work to do, so this is a good mid point. :) In case you don't know, it's the animated expansion of this. ;) |

On later web review of the animation, it seems a frame or two is missing and it's a slight bit faster then intended. I made an alternate version with the extra frames added back in as well as slowed down the speed a bit. It would be a VERY good idea to tell me if you like the first version better then this one, as otherwise I will be finishing the last half of this animation using this new, alternate version. :)
