Bit of an odd question

I recently was forced to change to Windows 10. As some of you know, I've been around for a very long time, and my previous computer was an old Dell with Windows XP SP3.

Previously, whenever I did any work on an image or some other file, I simply appended a -2 on the end of the file name, ie: File002-02.jpg. I could quite easily search for "-2" and find all the stuff that I'd modified.

Windows 10 doesn't seem willing to search for dashes, underscores or other special characters. I can't seem to figure out how to do it. Does anyone know how to do a search for files named with a -2? Doing a Win10 search with "-2" in the field results in getting every file with a 2 anywhere in the file.

Thanks

Didn't know Microsoft was forcing even XP users to update... that's odd.
Though I can't say I'd be able to help with the problem, I can offer a suggestion.
Never noticed the search problem myself, but it might be helpful to simply change your search word.
If it's only for searching for modified files, you might try changing your word to 'mod#', where you can search for something that's been modified such number of times and save it with the appropriate number.

Yea, don't update anything, or you'll find yourself in BSOD heaven. Make certain windows updates is off. And don't bother with AVG either. AVG locked my system up so bad, I had to take out the harddrive, slave it into another pc, and wipe AVG from the system that way. Even without it, my machine was BSOD'ing twice a day. I talked to a very good local tech, and he said that was SOP for WinXP these days.

Anyway, I did find the answer from a MS board. I need to type in "filename:*-2" into the search box. Win10's a bit of a pain. I've turned most of the options off just to get it to a reasonably sane functioning.
