It's ironic. The first time I experienced Frank Cho's incredible artwork (nobody draws a better female form), I thought to myself, "Man, this is almost like something out of a greapos story, what with the outsized, bosomy women and the small, meek goobers that pass for male protagonists and everything." Funny how I greeted this video with ambivalence.
Perhaps greapos' reworking of them makes too overt what was originally just a subtle undercurrent. I think it more likely, however, that I'm too familiar with the original artwork to enjoy like this. I prefer the art as it was meant to be.
I greatly enjoy greapos' GTS stories and I think he has one of the most distinctive fantasies in the genre -- not to mention a great writing style that deftly blends the sensual with the dark and creepy.
So while I normally don't mind his remaking other people's work to fit his own Procrustean obsession (his version of BBL's "Going Down" was an improvement on the original IMHO), it is far too intrusive and disruptive in this particular instance.
(I'm also pretty sure I never want to see the words "Come for Mommy" in that order, or any order, ever again. Again, I realize that the maternal stuff is part of the whole greapos style, but I have limits.)
