This is something Ive dealt with myself on many many occasions. MY own fetishes extend well beyond just growth, and I wont get into the details. Everyone encounters stuff that turns them on by accident in public. While I do not consider myself a furry, I am turned on by furry stuff, and I live with someone who finds furries and furry stuff disgusting. Ive never told him outright that I enjoy that sort of thing, but I take every oppurtunity to try and get him to open his mind a bit more.
You can never escape stupid/judgemental people. Thats just a fact of life. But one thing I think you should try and do is not define yourself by your fetishes. Like night said, dont introduce yourself as a giantess/growth fetishist. One thing I will always insist upon is that you have nothing to be ashamed of. There are much, much worse things to be turned on by. Its ok to be embarassed, especially if you get caught in the act or whatever, but dont be ashamed. If you dont want people to know, just keep it under your hat. Thats easy enough.
