Well, I read and downloaded the comic Mammabliss did for you. Personally, I thought it was a cute story, and of course Mammabliss did her usual bang-up job on the art.
As to the characters, I gotta say, you got Fred Perry to do some of the art, and that in itself kicks ass. Fred Perry is old school, always loved his stuff and I've colorized a number of his stories (which is saying something I'll usually only take the time to colorize something if I really like it so much I just have to see it in color.)
Yes, there are comparisons I'm sure can be drawn between your characters and some of others out there, but you know what, I can find a simularity between just about every character I've ever come across with another existing one. Doesan't neccesarilly speak to a lack of creativity, because the person who made the character might never have heard of what I'm thinking of.
As to the slave/sexified bimbo thingy, I don't know. From what I saw there's alot of sex and playfullness to the characters in general, but that does not mean there's not more too them then that. People are versital depending on there mood, so without reading an actual story it's hard for me to determine based on a few panels.
Anothere thing to consider is what you're going for here, what's your vision for your characters and stories? As more work get's out there, and depeding on who you work with, people will begin to form certian general associations.
I'll give you three examples:
Mammabliss: Cute, playfull stories and artwork. Fun type of stuff.
GammaRay: Outragious situations, but with a realism and development to her character's reactions to the situations and transformations they find themselves that makes them three dimensional and the stories that much more intresting.
Skiff: Well developed charactizations, and storylines. A grittyness combined though with a certian often ironic wittyness where characterzations are concerned that helps the flow of the story tremendously without compromising the intrity of the peices.
I love all three by the way.
All and all, I think there's some nice potential here. Stay true to your vision, and your work, and good luck. Keep us posted.
