I've got a couple of freebie accounts, but I rarely log in. Performance and UI issues aside, the user-created content is definitely a reflection of Sturgeon's Law: 90% of everything is crap.
There are some really nice and handy freebies out there, though. I strongly suggest using the Search function to find Yadni's places, if you can stand SL long enough to make your way off Newbie Island.
