Re: Black hole swallows earth

i don't see why exactly everyone wants to stop this. what other purpose is there in life besides discovering the rules that govern reality. that's about the only meaningful pursuit left for us westerners, and even that's pretty shallow and frankly, impossible. people do so cling to their lives as though there were absolutely nothing else. i understand this is a very important tenet of survival in nature, but when all of our hardships have been overcome, and we have little to do but cause a steady flow of dopamine in our brains, why do we still cling to this limited and hollow existence. everything that needs doing has been done. any new inventions will not be revolutionary, only more intricate or complex versions of old inventions.

you can see this in books, in movies, in tv. everything is a cliche, to the point that you can collect them and call them "tropes" we are pastr the curve in our exponential graph when it comes to population and number of inventions and just about everything else. i fear that though we may create more, nothing truly new will be created. long has the time passed when a human could think of an original thought, one that has never been thought of before. so why, why cling to this limited and ever more crowded existence?

forget those petty wars, disagreements are no longer life or nation threatening (er, or the bigger nation). all we can do is sdquabble about how to squander our remaining resources instead of searching for more. why haven't we been to mars? why are we still willing to halt all space missions simply because one went wrong? humans as a species need to find new paths, new avenues of thought, or living.

the way we are now, nearly everything will have been made or thought, books will become copies of other books, or two books combined, instead of new and interesting stories. i envision a future similar to south park's episode "simpsons did it" in which everything has already been done. already been played out. the same jokes told. only new for a new generation, but not truly new for the speices. we need to explore, either the other side of dea or the other side of the moon. evolution has already been retarded by compassion, no other destiny seems available for man.
