No, let's define it by it's definition.
A shadow is a region of darkness where light is blocked by an object. It occupies all of the space behind an opaque object with light in front of it. The cross section of a shadow is a two-dimensional silhouette.
So what you see is the reflected silhouette. the shadow exists between it and the casting object.

I'm not even sure how you are defining the word "soul" since in your first post you also mention mind and thought.
I tend to believe that you don't mean soul in the religious ( Judeo-Christian) sense of the word.
i.e. Man has a soul, animals do not.
But it does not really matter, because under no thought process I have had can I validate your hypothesis. The best I can come up with is that the soul is a "0 dimensional"construct since it has no number of coordinates which is needed to give it dimension. And even that has holes big enough to drive a a truck through.
