what i mean might be better described as self consciousness. or maybe, the essence of the self. since, clearly, we are more than chemical reactions gushing about in the brain.
not believing in self conciousness is to me tantamount to believing that you're a robot and that everything that ever happens is predetermined. which is a facsinating conundrum, as believing that everything is predetermined and one has no choice is not really a choice anyway, making it irrelevant whether you believe it or not.
our bodies could be 3 dimensional shadows of our self conciousness
and i am not referring to a plane, as that is a boundless measure of 2d space, but a solitary shape within a 2 dimensional frame that happens to be reasonable like the shape of your body, albeit skewed.
