bikerrojo: you're half right. "Futa" is a shortening of "Futanari", japanese for "dickgirl". It's women with either male and female equipment or just dicks. It's different than transvestism in that they retain their feminine features, often exaggerated. "Transvestites" implies a gender change that's not inherent in futanari. The word futanari is used both because it sounds better than "dickgirl" and is connotative with manga, where this sort of thing appears quite often, whereas western culture doesn't really have it.
