Really? the guy who refuses to listen to any military advisors is going to end the war better than someone who does? The war needs to end, but you cant just up and leave when you feel it should end... Ask any soldier whos been there. I have talked to several both here and there, they all know that
1. we need to let the people there establish some order before we tell them 'were not going to protect you from the chaos we threw you into by overthrowing your government. Bye now!"
2. you cant just up and leave anyway, withdrawal takes time. Even Obama knows this, and my belief is that he has only given such fast withdrawal dates in order to gain popularity for the election.
I have many friends and a few relatives fighting overseas, and yes i wish we had not gone into Iraq, i was never for the war. However, now that we are there and we overthrew the existing government we owe it to those people to set things up a bit before we leave. Its selfish to not care what happens because of what we did and just try to have our troops brought home regaurdles of what it means to thier nation. Not to mention, worse case senario, if Al-Q or HaMas take control of Iraq after we leave we will have to invade AGAIN because unlike Hussain they will stock up on arms to attack thier enemies, which include us and our allies.
I want all of our troops home and safe, but we have to do it the right way or it will simply lead to more trouble and death down the line.
