When the inspectors are on the ground doing their jobs, but W suddenly ups and pulls them out so he can have his war, you know something is wrong. When SH started cooperating and letting the inspectors in to formerly off-limits places, but W lies and says that SH wouldn't let them in, you know something is wrong.

to genderhazard, you are in an extreme state of delusion of you think a preemptive war against the wrong country saved any ones lives. Sorry to say it. Tell that to our brave soldiers who were killed in an illegal occupation of a pathetic little country that was no threat to us. Over 4000 now, right? And that doesn't count the soldiers they ship out to die in German hospitals or on the way so they can keep the number down. And tell that to the 100,000 or so dead Iraqi civilians. Tell that to the Americans and Iraqi who are dying of DU pollution. Do you think Imperialism and genocidal behavior engenders good relations around the world. It's good to have a strong defense to counter threats. MAD worked in the cold war. If we have a reasonably good defense, it acts as a deterrent, I understand. To abuse our power, leads to very nasty things.

They are close in the polls so you have a good point. On the other hand, Obama has been maintaining a several point lead really. I am surprised it isn't larger though. But it's hard with the conservative media attacking you so often.
