Re: Best Stephen King horror/thriller movie?
If Misery can be called a horror movie, then that'd be my vote. The Stand was watchable, and I actually wound up reading it afterwards where they had a copy of it sitting out at a local coffee shop. I think they must have made a couple of hundred off me on that book alone.
Aside from non-horror movies like Stand By Me and The Shawshank Redemption, asking what the best King horror movie is... is a lot like asking me what insect bites I've enjoyed the most, or which of my bones did I enjoy breaking the most. The majority of theatrical releases based on King books or short stories have been steaming piles of dung, even if directed by Kubrick instead of Carpenter.
