...Honestly, now.
EDIT: Oh, and I may as well adress your argument.
The story is almost fan-fic quality. I would prefer the characters just interacting and getting into skirmishes over personal crap instead of "DERP, EVIL!" Honestly, scenes like the Fox/Sheik/Peach tea party, Luigi's intro with Dedede, Lucario and Snake, Falcon and Olimar, and heck, even the drama with R.O.B. could all be handled without the generic EBIL ALIEN RACE plot. This isn't even taking into consideration that the opening scene of story mode was cut due to time constraints and Sonic was, quite literally, dumped in at the last minute.
The DLC problem comes from the lack of content. Most of this comes from the fact that there is a LOT of scrapped, half-finished pieces of data left in the game, including about half a dozen characters. Nintendo could EASILY make money and please fans by releasing DLC to patch up the content and make it work in the game, but they choose not to, because it's too much of a hassle.
The number of characters is SERIOUSLY low compared to the increase between 64 and Melee. Many new characters are reskinned tweaks of old ones (Lucario and Lucas, for example). Compared to series like Street Fighter, which has WELL in excess of 35 characters, the cloning in Brawl is ridiculous. Very few of the clones from the last game were fixed, and they easily could have been. These characters come from pre-existing franchises, and can easily be given movesets.
For example, Lucas doesn't have a SINGLE MOVE that is actually his outside of PK Love. There is no point in PK Fire when Ness already has that, try something different. Luigi is a great example of an uncloned character, and Wolf is boarderline because he actually plays differently.
Also, your argument makes no sense. You state that characters who look different but have the same moves are OK, but characters/cars that look the same but play differently are bad.
Also, with all of the new modes introduced in Melee, I find it sad that they couldn't think of much more than "Mix and match modes we already introduced!"
So yeah, I love Brawl too, so stop being so defensive. Even if it's your "favoritest game ever" it still has problems, and you need to acknowledge that. Oh, and just to clarify, (except for story) this is all stuff that the game lacks. This would be a good deal longer if I went into the actual present flaws.
