Maybe worst is a bit too strong, so I'll apologise for using that word. Anyway, I said that with this thread in mind:

And a recent thread:

It's just bad netiquette, nothing too serious, I think I did the direct linking bit to images hosted on Isotonix's site in a couple threads before I learned that it is bad manners myself. Though, as a personal recommendation, you really should organise your stuff in folders according to artist so that you don't have the problem where you can't remember who did what or where you found something.

Regardless of whether the thing you are sharing was from an artist's website without any cost to you to look at it, or if it was from something the artist was selling, it is merely bad manners when you share it in certain ways without the artist's permission (which is why it is a civil matter, some artists are completely all right with it, some are not and will complain once they find out like the artist CatyN). How it becomes theft is when someone violates the artist's intellectual property and tries to profit off it. Maybe you are aware of a lot of fake stuff being sold on auction sites, for example a figurine that is a copy of a legitimate one and sold with that in mind, that violates intellectual property laws and is theft due to the fact that it is fraud.

It's like if the burger was infinitely large, so the people who made it could only sell one. After that, the one buyer just shares it with everyone, and the burger guy goes broke or all burger makers are discouraged of even making burgers because they see what will happen.
I agree with you here, I think I wrote something similar in one of jollyjack's threads. I would like to think that since humans have the ability of foresight, they would also think to themselves, "Hey, if no one supports the burger guy, the burger guy won't be able to make any more burgers for us to eat."

So, if your friends think the burger guy's burgers are any good, they should try and financially support the burger guy so that the burger guy will hopefully continue making more burgers. =\
