From the screens, I can't say much about photoshop... you don't seem to make use of groups and haven't configured your workspace to work more fluidly with what you need. Or maybe I just overkill with my game design. (see attachment) I don't know.

Also, you say aftereffects is simple, but it looks like something that would take at least a few months of determined, in-depth use to learn.
