Great comments guys. Thanks for the feedback. I agree that the ending was slightly abrupt, but I couldn't think of a way to prolong the action without becoming repetitive, something I hate in stories.
As far as a future novel length project, I frankly doubt it. I work better with brief conceptual pieces than with long form epics, and once I get my idea across I'm eager to develop it to a nice tidy conclusion. Furthermore, this ia genre that I don't think lends itself well to very long stories. The growth is the exciting part (at least for me) and there's only so long you can drag that out. I have read a couple of novel length stories that have been very satisfying (Personal Growth by Rapscallion and Leggy Lisa come to mind) but they are very rare.More often I find myself getting bored and skipping ahead to the growth scenes.
Thanks again for reading. I've got a couple of other ideas simmering on the back burner that I'll get to soon.
