Am I the only one who doesn't see a big problem with an anime running too long?

I mean, it's hard for me to flip channels and watch most properly-paced anime myself, because I always feel like I'm in the middle of the plotline, I got to learn who everyone is and what they are doing, and I rarely catch consecutive episodes.. here, well, with a lot of filler or whatever, it's a lot easier to catch a random episode and not miss too much.

Although I wager they'll be a bit better about the story this time around,.
