I watched The Fountain because it was sci-fi. Melodrama really isn't my thing, it's just too depressing. We covered horror, melodrama, and noir in my film genres class, so...
We had to watch Mildred Pierce in that class, and I cried right in the middle of the class; it was pretty embarassing, especially because I'm too shy to socialize, so my first impression on a lot of people was probably "androgynous crybaby" ( ;?Д｀)
