Why only three times?

If I had insurance, I'd go once a year so I could get anything that was about to go wrong hopefully taken care of before that.

My rationale in favor of nationalized basic healthcare is that people would be healthier, WORK MORE, generate more money for the economy (likely more than the cost of their healthcare) and so on. I'm not suggesting EVERYTHING be subsidized by the government but routine checkups and associated bloodwork shouldn't be a worry.
